You can also kill ABS/VSC by interrupting a wheel speed sensor, I put a relay in line with passenger front sensor, using the pins that are closed and a switch that powers the relay to open and break the connection.

I wish I paid $5000 for my truck... As for the Wilson’s, that particular rotor requires 17”. I saw one that was 6 piston that would work but as you said no mounting bracket.

True, I wouldn’t mind switching to a 17” wheel and going with a 34” tire since that size is available. It’s just a hassle and I love my brushed copper ray10s, but they do come in 17” so it’s something to consider.

The issue is finding them in stock haha. There's one on the blem thread right now, but then I'd have to wait for the other four. :ballchain:

That and for the money I'm fronting to find the new wheels and tires, I could spend the same amount and just opt for the SOS 16" wheel BBK and save myself the time and hassle. :boink:

Great discussion on brakes guys, I think I’ve made my decision to stay with a 16” wheel since I don’t plan on a rear disc conversion, if I did the wheel upgrade would make more sense. I’m thinking I’ll do the SOS 16”, 6-piston setup and upgrade the master cylinder and that should be enough. I’m only 33s so it isn’t so bad.

In other news, someone just made a thread asking if they could pair an “LSK 3+ kit” with Rancho shocks.... I’ve seen everything now  Pretty sure LSK just makes the 4.5” over kit anyways.

With 33’s yes you should stick to 16’s for more sidewall but if you ever jump up to 35’s the tire options for 17” are better and better priced.

    and link to that thread?

Why are you thinking about swapping the mc - I’m pretty sure you can run all the sos kits with the stock mc unless you’re running rear disks as well. If you needed to based on how you think the pedal feel changed then you could try it, but I’d probably not just do it at the same time and not know if you didn’t need to.

I definitely like the sidewall. After my falkens wear out, next tire I get is going to be a 295 for a 33.4, instead of with the 285, which is a 32.8. Tire price definitely "inflates" beyond that size. Seewhatididthar.

Good point. I'm gonna read up on the master cylinder, but from what I understand it isn't very hard or expensive. So we'll see, I would like the stiffer brake pedal though. It feels like soggy shoes right now.

Yeah, stainless steel front and rear. Brakes felt great in the beginning, but swingout and front bumper added a lot of weight. Looking forward to the larger pad surface with the 6-piston calipers.

I’m running the same brakes (obviously) on my regular cab and I’m not impressed so I’d imagine with nearing another commuter car’s weight over my fully loaded camping trip weight of 3900 lbs on your guys trucks the brakes suck. The master cylinder only affects pedal feel unless the new calipers are completely way off for the stock mc and it couldn’t move enough fluid. It’s not a lot of work, but with abs and all the extra bleeding procedure it would save you a small headache if the original mc worked with the stop techs.

Just get 315’s or 35’s for your next tire. Bigger tires make everything so much better with LT. Whoops and ruts just get smaller and smaller. Plus you can clear or mostly clear that size with minimal work

By the time these falkens wear out, I might just do that. I’m already geared to 4.56 anyway, I don’t see a reason not to besides a nominal gas hit, but I think I can counter that with a lighter weight tire.

    Quick question:

are you guys running OEM alignment cam bolts or is there a better aftermarket version? I tried the greasable ones and they didn’t last 2 alignments. Thanks

Oem yes but you’ll want to add some sort of cam tab gusset to really help keep things aligned

Yeah that’s a good looking kit. I’d get back to the oem bolts and see how it goes. I tacked my cams in place after an alignment and haven’t had issues since
