My roommate's running the Engage kit with the 50T pack on his 1st Gen, fully caged with only 1 spare. It rides pretty decent, definitely not a kidney killer. the performance is amazing!! Strong enough to do 70 through the whoops no problem. With your deavers losing their spring arch, did they get softer, and the ride get smoother, just lost the lift and performance? I could probably stir up a pic if your interested...

I wouldn't say they are any smother. It's really just the arch/height (and the broken clamp). Matt and Eddie can attest that it still performs, I was over 80 though the whoops in Pismo a couple months ago. My truck is 4x4 so I'm more into a level stance as opposed to the bro lean.

Pics are always good if it's not too much trouble!!!!

 I would so hit that.

    Thanks Matt

There are differing opinions when it comes to ride height and arch of leafsprung trucks. Im in the middle, a higher rear end might constitute a higher center of gravity but can also give a better up/down travel ratio.

Some say leafs with more arch will provide more uptravel, which is what you ideally want in a leafsprung truck.

Heres a vid of the legendary Matt Helton with SY2, lol. he had decent amount arch in his leafs

jason you are 12" above the frame right? curious as to the distance between your hanger mount and shackle mount in a strait line...the f67 with a 12" above the frame should be 53 1/2.

I have the Giant kit, but it's a 62" Deaver f67 for the first gens (at least at the time it was).

Yes, 12" shackle, above the frame. I'll measure it up when I get off work to make sure

Thanks man! Build link would be great.

Those pictures are crappy, cant even justify the meticulousness that went into building this truck, especially all the tig welding and balastic steal that was used
