There’s only a cir-clip on the outer side of the star, so there’s some freedom to slide in and out on new installs. I don’t think that could be your issue because it’s just sliding in and out while rotating. Maybe the cage is in backwards?

no cause it wouldn’t retain it if it was, plus I wanna say I looked at that when I assembled them and realized they wouldn’t work or something if any of the parts where backwards. Gotta look into a few more things tomorrow, from what I can tell both axles have zero bind or anything in there full articulation and rotation.

Toying with the idea of buying 3rd gen fiberglass bedsides and new 3rd gen tail lights to put on my 2nd gen. Anyone tried before or seen it done?

I’m pretty sure there a guy on Instagram that’s done it. His truck is linked though, can’t remember if he has the bed still or his handle tho...
I’d imagine the bedsides and tail lights would bolt up, the tailgate will for sure be different though. It won’t line up for sure.

Anyone here know if i can run standard Fox/King shims in ADS shocks? Also do they have a distributor for parts like pistons, wear bands, bearings etc.. Or is calling them the only way to get stuff like that?

    Check My Sig.
You will not be able to run Fox shims. You could probably get away with King shims because ADS are basically a King replica but I’ve not tried it myself.

I’m not aware of any distributors so keep us posted if you find any. I’ve ordered parts direct previously.

Just call them and order shims and any parts you need direct. You can message mcmasterfabber or Jamesonmotorsports on Instagram if you want. But probably better to just call them directly. Or tyler@adsshocks.com for an email. They’re good guys and will have what you need.

I don't plan on looking too hard for now lol, i'll probably just order direct from them as well. And finding a distributor isn't of big importance to me either its just that they don't have that stuff on their website to order easily.
I've been wanting to get into shock rebuilding and tuning since it seems cool and really nobody does it out here. So i'm planning on starting with my ADSs since they're due for rebuild anyways, and was hoping i could kill a couple birds with one stone as far as starting to stock up parts. I got ADS fronts Fox rears so it looks like i'm already off to a rough start

No big deal, not necessarily the case you could reuse shims you weren't needing from one shock to the other anyway. Get seals and other parts here:

    https://www.shockseals.com/

You'll learn more by having various shocks on your vehicle.

Thanks that's on the lines of what i was looking for. Yea for me the more the merrier to learn on, and the usual fox/king stuff seems easy to get for the most part. For my wallet for parts, not so much joy

Doors are the same besides the electronics or mechanical linkage to the best of my knowledge.
