    That looks excellent, Nicely done!
Was thinking of doing something similar on my daily driver 5th gen 4runner and your post has got me super motivated!

Was wanting to put 750LB spring rate on my 8" kings to help raise the ride height. Any opinions? Will it be a noticable difference?

What front setup are you running? What springs are you running?
750 is pretty heavy. I have a heavy setup and only run 700’s. Most people run 600 or 650’s

i have Cambur LT kit with the 2.5 King 8" coilover. I have the trailgear rock defense low profile front bumper and my front didnt get raised at all when i put the LT kit on. I am unsure what spring rate is on them right now. I got them from camburg. Wasnt sure about what i should go to, i chose the heaviest they have.

There should be a marking on the spring somewhere if you look. Something written on the side like 3.00.600.16. Try to find it and see what they say. I bed they’re just 600lb springs. At which rate you can get 650 from eibach or 700 from king. But first you can see what you have and see about just trying to adjust preload.

I am running the camburg kit as well, but running 500lb 18" springs per Accutune, but I like my truck sitting lower (maybe 2" above stock ride height). I have a steel skid, tube bumper, and winch...strong believer in damping. If you ordered everything from Camburg, the coilovers most likely came with a 600lb 16" spring. I recommend talking with Accutune and they can recommend the right spring by weight and desired ride height. If you don't like it, you can swap springs and try again at no charge. My guess is they will most likely recommend 600 or 650 18" springs. 18" have more travel thus more adjustability before coil bind.

Thanks, sounds like I was going to get a coil that was way too stiff for my application. I will definitely give them a call

Appreciate the response, I will definitely look at my coils in the morning and go from there.

Any 1st gen guys have experience going from a 3.5 over front kit to the Solo XLT kit? Is the added travel a huge difference or at least enough to make the change worth it? I guess 2nd gen experience would probably apply also.

Can’t say I’ve gone from 3.5 to xlt but I’m strapped at 16” before cutting out sheet metal - probably could eek out 1-1.5 more inches if I deleted the inner fender.

Got her strapped up at just shy of 14.5 in of travel. Now just need to get my reservoirs mounted and set ride height.

I guess the real problem I run into is that the truck is currently bumped with the skid on the ground. So is the XLT additional travel useable if you do the work to pull the full 17" to 18" claimed. I understand its wider so there will be more droop also. I am probably just expecting to much jumping a 4x4 truck.

Hello Gentlemen, Happy Black Friday. - 03' T4R V8 - TC Standard Length Dual set up -
Odd question here and your page is the only opinion I would trust just by the sheer volume of experienced fab guys on here. I'm looking at Dirt Kings BF sale and wondered if their LT bypass specs would work with a TC dual hoop that is already installed on my 4Runner.

We welded the top hat bolt sleeves of the hoop to the bucket to make sure they would stay solid, so removing them and replacing with the DKs would suck.

The TC hoop has an odd angle compared to the DK straight forward design, but it looks to me that the two top shock mounting bolts are close to the same orientation and maybe I could get away with relocating and shortening the tabs and using longer top hat bolts to accommodate the DK LT CO set up to work with the different top hat design of the TC hoop.

I've included two pics, one of the DK and one of mine when we welded it up for comparison. I'm sure there is no positive way of knowing without mocking it up, but I thought I'd ask what you guys thought about it. And yes I shoulda gone +3.5" to start with lol.
Thanks and hope your T-Day was a good one.

Probably not since yours is stock width and running stock length shocks. (6”)

I mean technically yes I’m sure you could make them work by moving the upper shock mount but your bypass zones would be in the wrong spot. Best would be to get the correct length shocks for your application

You silver lake guys go big lol. I’d say yes there will be a benefit, and just go bigger tires so you can bump out higher up

Silver Lake isn't that big so we make the best of the space i guess.

Unfortunately clearing 37's on a 1st gen takes alot if you still want to be able to cycle any travel. Probably just time to start building the next truck just have to finish some other projects first.

What size are you running now? Look small to be 35’s. But clearancing for bigger tires on a truck that’s caged and already has a ton of work into it doesn’t seem like a deal breaker. Pretty sure the xlt kit pushes the tire forward as well to help. Or just stiffen up the valving to handle the bigger sends and keep enjoying what you got.

It’s not that bad. But I keep popping front CV’s which is annoying more than anything else. Front diff has held up well so far
