Yeah it all depends what you’re ordering snd where it’s coming from. But they all will come with oil for sure. At least hopefully. Be real shitty if they didnt

Yeah that would be pretty ridiculous if it didn’t. It’d be like buying a new motorcycle that didn’t come with spark plugs or something.

A lot has to do with packaging constraints. Big shocks usually come uncharged but those usually go on vehicles that have owners who have the tools to address that.

Even if they are able to be compressed by hand, don't go doing it much. Some air could get past the ifp

By slowly compressing it by hand? There would be a much better chance of nitrogen getting past the ifp when hot and cycling a hundred times a minute during regular off road use

No, the nitrogen pressure helps seal the system. @not_nick is correct.

Yea like atmosphere pressure oxygen in the resi, like whatever was taking up the space during original assembly. Happened to one of my rear shocks so i gotta bleed em again before i put em on the truck. You can hear the air in the shock when it happens

Ok I’m thinking misunderstanding. You’re saying don’t do it if they aren’t charged. Because the 5psi or whatever from assembly isn’t enough to seal the system. I was thinking you’re saying don’t do it with 150 psi.

Can’t wait to see them on the truck, they look great!

Edit: I asked Riley about stickers for the resis over the phone the other day. He said his supplier is held up. Hope we get those later since they add like 15hp and have their own gravitational pull for picking up chicks at the mall. :cookiemonster:

    Mods? Yes, oh yes..
stickers make the comments go from "nice truck" to "sick truck brah, want a no homo handy?" also adds an inch of lift with the 15hp.

I put on some 18” x 500 coils today. They barely squeeze onto these 8” coilovers but they fit and I couldn’t be happier. This is as much preload as I can add before the coil would hit block height and bottom out (at full compression). Gives me about 1.5” of lift and should articulate nice and easy in the rocks which is where Betty white likes to be.

    A thing or two...
Why an 18" spring vs the normal 16" spring? Is it so you have more built in preload and can run a lower spring weight?

Yep exactly. The downside is less adjustability. I’m maxed out on preload because if I move the upper collar any lower, the coil will bottom out before the shock does. But I’m right where I want to be ride height wise.

I swapped over to an 18", 500 LB Spring right before this trip. It was noticeable and better through the rocks. Body roll got worst but I'm also 4 linked on 200/250 springs in the rear without sway bar. Still hasn't taken out the nuisance rock chatter but better.

Dual rate on an 8" coilover might be next......... @desertjunkie760

I’m being lazy. Playing with the valving on the current setup because I can. Trying to get a decent baseline.

Valving will help with the chatter.
