I blew up 2 ecgs diffs and had both replaced for free no questions asked. Can’t go wrong with them IMO.
Though my ford 9 I have now has fixed the problem of broken diffs.

x3 on ECGS. They are the most cost effective and have the best warranty. I've had my rear re-worked twice now, one due to a bad ARB seal and one due to noise, and they've taken care of me both times. Only negative is that you have to ship and be down 2ish weeks being they are on the East Coast.

Standing behind their work is great! I know a cpl guys that have blown a diff from them fairly quick. Wonder if it’s just a case of too much juice or…

I would rather use some some local and spend money on some local but ECGS is always an option.

Any of you get the “REM” polishing on the gears? Alleviates need for break in period.

from my research polishing isn’t worth the upcharge if you are willing to do the brake in yourself
Alternatively the cryo polishing helps life and rotational resistance

I had my 5.29’s cryo’d and they have been great from the noise you’d typically expect from a trutrac

I despise the break in period on new gears lol. I was looking into cryo treating the gears back when I talking with a yota gear guru (Zuk from TTORA) but he only does local, no shipping. Yotamasters can provide REM but doesn’t have a cryo person. Did you source your gears and have cryo or did Evan Weeler handle it?

Zuk moved. But you can still ask him he used for cryo. I know they are in the Phx valley so you’d have to ship them.
I did my gears through him and had em cryo’d.

He did move and has slowed down with retirement coming. He will NOT ship anymore only local drop offs.

Cryo'd and rem polished mine and full send straight away is the way to go haha. Think I’ve finally gone enough mikes on them to change the oil for the first time since getting it done 2 years ago lol

How do you like the trutrac? Was going to do a Detroit locker as this truck is a play truck and only see road driving when driving to go froading.

I’ve been waiting for my truck to be running and driving with the LS and 4L60E to see what gear set I’m gonna need. Better hurry up and get my ass to Prescott.

AJ beck at EWR handled everything for all of my vehicles
BUT I haven’t needed any service from them since early 2022 so economic conditions may make certain services less accessible

Love my Detroit locker. Not a single issue on the street except for the occasional chirp when stepping on the gas exiting a turn.
Edit: Detroit is on my ford 9. Regardless Detroit is the strongest out there except for a spool.

I just went with a arb in my 9” due to weird pnw weather. If I ever have a problem with this one I’ll probably just drop the dough to upgrade to a 40 spline…

Factory Toyota e locker on the stock axle. Then Harrop e lockers on the tundra rear and front diff now. I don’t like dealing with compressors and leaks from arb

when I put in my arb I got a killer deal on their SS airlines and haven't had a problem esp as long as you engage and disengage it when at a full stop it, when I go to a 9' or a tundra rear ill probably just go with a spool.

Yeah I know a ton of people that have ram them forever without issues. But then I’ve wheeled with a handful that have had issues. Including our race car which we lost the front locker during qualifying and then again after fixing it during the race for koh.

Detroits are tough, but in my experience they suck for on road manners. I’m personally running an ARB. It’s nice having the ability to keep it open on street and locked in the dirt. Plus, onboard air is a thing of beauty.
