Any flat and square surface usually works - I've gotten my 3rd gen 4runner within spec before bringing it into a shop (at a really good shop) when I replaced the rack / uppers / lowers / tie rods with stock spindles.

I just make the castor adjusters the same, then dial in camber with a digital level on the beadlock ring at ride height. Set toe with tape measure off of tire lugs, been doing this for a couple years now and have never had an alignment. Got 55k out of my last tires and drives great :hattip:

Castor adjusters? I only have LCA cams to adjust for camber and castor on mine
I used to do the same off of the lugs, would get mixed results so I got some toe plates that make it real easy now

Some people might refer to the alignment cams (or just the front or rear of them) as caster. I was pretty detailed in case the guy who was asking hadn’t much detailed info but basically just max out the caster to the point where camber goes positive and bring it back to 0* camber is what I meant with more detailed info. The alignment cams I guess could be labeled caster or camber in the front or rear - the rear like I said on at least first gens is what gives you 80%+ of your caster adjustment.

I’d like to get toe plates - I think I can make them each time I see them online but never do haha.

I don’t think he’s joking, when calibrated right my phone app is within .1* of my nice legit digital angle finders.

I didn’t think he was joking. Just thought it was funny, maybe the way I read it.

I use my phone for leveling too while doing conduit work with angles not marked on the benders or torpedo levels. Or any other pinch on leveling something without walking back to the work van to grab a level.

Some of hardware including the accelerometers / gyros they put into the newer ones are impressive - like how it measures altitude, fall impact acceleration, whether it's face up or down, and when it's being lifted into a position where the person is bringing it up to be used and turns the screen on.

Even sat communication - I'm on a 11 and not rushing to buy a phone, but I liked this test of an iPhone 14 vs. Garmin

Actually security, but we run our own conduit.

Looks Like Wed will be a good day for new suspension tuning in the Des, still could be windy but temps will be good.
Hopefully I can get new LCA bushing installed before.

On its own weight again. Springs aren't in yet lol.

Need to get in touch with JD, the tie rods I was sent aren't quite long enough. Im waiting to hear back on exactly how short they are.

un yeah not sure that qualifies as “ on its own weight “ with 600 lbs missing from that big hole in the front.

the btf kit must be a bit wider than the JD +4 so i’m assuming that is why the tie rods are a bit short ?

:rofl:Maybe you're right, but atleast its off the lift.

JD made them for the BTF kit, supposedly. It's not a huge deal, once I have the truck back, we'll figure it out. Have a little but of time before it matters.
