What happens when you consider the 4runner a minivan? :p

The 2gr-fks from the third gen is a minivan motor

Minivans are all front wheel or awd unibody Iacocca derivatives; at least the first gens had manual transmissions. Body on frame solid rear axle suv is about as much a minivan as a supra is a k car.

2GR-FE makes the big power tho.

I'd like to get my battery out of the engine to save what's left of my core support... it seems like the most common option is behind the rear seats but I have too much audio and recovery junk back there to really make use of the space well and I'd rather not have a battery in the cab with me. Has anyone relocated it to a bedside cubby and have any creative mounting solutions?

Jesse is going to hate my next email! ;)

Is it for the driver or passenger side? I'm moving my ARB compressor from the engine bay to the driver side cubby on my third gen before you guys do my inner fenders. I'm happy to cut a new hole to add another cubby on the passenger side (dropped in >2020 I guess?) but I'll make sure I leave the correct one open for yall.

This is a Camburg race kit. Note the ding from the bolt hitting the LCA when steering is at full lock. Any recommendations on a solution? Should I weld a pad or just not worry about it?

I don’t worry about mine. Mine have gouges a bit bigger than that.

Why stop there? Only drive in straight lines and make tubbing firewall obsolete, lower suspension to maximize CV life, close all bypass tubes to save the check-valves. Never use or drive the truck and get a Prius. Silly solution.

not as silly as all that bs you mentioned
If gouging the lower control arms at full lock is a problem back off an 1/8 of a freaking turn on The steering wheel. More than one solution besides welding something on.

Hitting full lock is very common off road, plus you can hit steering stops without the wheel being at full lock just from parts flexing.

When you're driving hard you aren't thinking about stopping turning the wheel just before it makes contact, plus that's just not a reasonable way to build a vehicle.

Exactly the point, telling someone on a long travel thread not to turn is as silly as my sarcastic statements.

plenty of us on here don’t have steering stops. So far mine hasnt even scratched up the power coat on the LCA. Where @soggyBottom is running into issues is his kit has the inverted spindle adapter that puts the bolt hitting the top of the LCA. If the adapter was hitting the arm square on, it wouldn’t be an issue. However having forces applied to the fastener like that is problematic, not to mention the nasty gouge it left. I’d add a stop to the LCA. A lot of kits keep the stock spindle adapter and cut the steering stops off.

That was what I was thinking. I don't wrench down on the steering wheel at full lock but it does touch every now and then. I'll probably contact Camburg and see what they say. It seems like there could be a safety issue here with the bolt.

Has anyone seen or had any experience with the JD Fab 4 link kit? It sounds amazing, bolts into place, you can probably weld it into place afterwards too for extra security. Comes with almost everything you need almost, except they don’t have any pictures which I find to be weird.

can anyone vouch for this kit or have any pictures?
