What's your "backseat" going to be? Being an access cab I assume you are sticking with 2 seats but I wasn't sure if you were putting anything else in that space. Tools or something

Just gonna make a flat shelf at the bottom for storage....at least somehting I can strap my tool boxes down to. Im going to leave a tube out at the bottom of the cage to give me a little better access into that area since its pretty tight now. Its just a 45 tube like the one that is at window height on the suicide doors.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Winter lists starting to get wrapped up. Still looks like it'll be down to the wire for KOH though.

Started with building a 9.5inch Land Cruiser housing. Full Float, with adapters for 4th Gen 4runner rear disc. Matching width to the Solo +3.5 LT I did last year (I built the rear 1 inch narrower than front).

Then it was on to the Chevy 63s

Tubbed the fire wall and cut the bedsides and fenders to clear 37s

That amout of tubbing was in addition to this... that I did last year.

Truck is back on all 4 wheels. Needs some exhaust work (to route around the traction bar and replacing the Catalytic converters... Cal smog sucks). Also need to do some adjusting to the parking brake and other odds and ends. But it's just about done... again... for now.

Just some rustoleum I had laying around. Really light coats. Not that thick at all finished product.

Just a coating so they didn't just end up totally rust colored

Internet mechanics I call upon your help. Race support Elantra stopped moving yesterday on my way home. Cruising at 65 and went straight to red line. No loud noises or anything. Pulled over, engine sounds fine, but when in gear and let the clutch out, can feel the trans rotating but the car wouldn’t move.

Fast forward to today. Pulled the trans and clutch. Something had been spinning around inside the clutch and caused it to fail it seems. Found these little springs loose floating around the clutch assembly and you can see where they caused some damage. I have no clue where they came from, can’t see anything on the flywheel side or trans side that would be missing something like this. The only part inside this are other than the clutch is the starter up by the flywheel but that appears fine as well.

Anyone know where these springs could be from? Ordered a clutch kit that will be here Friday but would hate to put it back together without knowing the source.

    They’re part of the clutch.

Just make sure the flywheel surface is smooth and not glazed. You could get it resurfaced at a machine shop if necessary.

looks like the internal springs that would make up the pressure plate/clutch assembly.

Disclaimer: Not at all familiar with the Hyundai stuff in any way

    nice!

Is this a common problem with the Elantra's or just WRC driving style?

Welp someone stole the spare tire out of my truck. Anyone got any ideas on how to lock them down? I was just running a strap. Really bummed because I can’t afford to even replace it right now.

HomeDepot sells coated thick cables for locking stuff up and use that. Even going through the rim and just around your support bar for the rear will do. Yes, angle grinder will get through. It's all bout appearances though to deter
