Snow is still not melted enough for them to open up the gates here yet. I saw a nice lil’ ramp rock outside a gate I was checking and realized I hadn’t really had a chance to check my clearance with the new SUA changes.

I wasn’t aired down but safe to say my plan of sticking with stock bedsides might not be long for this life. Plenty of travel left and absolutely no fender left.

I was just going to pretend this problem isn't real and let it self clearance but I'm also replacing my rear bumper here in a few weeks and it needs some custom fab work to mount to the frame around the battery box. Maybe if I'm going to the effort I should sort out the bedsides first. :/

Welp. Wonder if this has anything to do with my driver side front vibration. Boot lasted exactly a year.

Y'all got any tips of getting the bolts out of the uniballs? It's like this all on 4. Or just scrap it and get new uniballs?

Well Im stumped. Bolt is stuck in the uniballs, so a uniball press wont work. Smacking it with a socket won't work either.

Heat and pounding got mine out but I never had the bolt seize to the misalignment soacers.
I had to use a buddies 20 ton press for one of them though.

Interesting. Worse comes to worse I'll take it to an axle shop and have them press it out. Good thing it's Friday!!

Might try a ball joint press, they have different size cups and one might fit that.

I wonder if you could set up your arm in a vice or clamps and then use the bolt similar to the bolt in the uniball removal tool and somehow use that frozen bolt to pull the uniball and bolt out

I def think heat will help
But that bolt is def bent if it’s that seized
So heat will likely only do you so many favors
    Also
If you’re in SoCal, Albertsons has dry ice in the front in the cooler that has the penguin on it

So how do you "prep" uniballs? I see people talking about uniballs require maintenance and prep work, but what exactly is that?

In all seriousness, I started development on a new kit. And it will be done around a non molested truck using the exact same geometry. 19+ useable with a 16” shock… Planning to dump some discussed and undiscussed items soon.

I prefer copper antiseeze in the cup during install but I know some people say that’s a no no too
I also use triflow or ptfe spray on the ball itself during routine checks past 1000 miles

if you’re heavy off-road you should at least be spraying them clean with some compressed air and checking for wear
