Question for ya’ll: what amount resistance is considered CV bind? Rebooting my 934s and at full droop on straps I can spin the CV by hand but I do encounter about 60ish degrees of rotation where it requires double the effort to turn.

Also on reassembly, what torque do you run the 934 inner flange bolts at? Seen mixed answers on google ranging from 70ft lbs with lock-tight to 105ft lbs with anti-seize. Definitely don’t want them coming loose.

Any resistance is going to be considered bind. I would torque to bolt size spec personally. Likely around 70.

I betcha my limit straps have stretched. Need to see how I can adjust this straps up a bit, looks to be a tab style.

    Thanks Cory!

True lol. These are a couple years old, not sure how long straps typically last.

    Til they don’t
    Not being funny
    Getting them wet
    Sun exposure
    Lots of jumps
    Lots of droop
    Ect
    All straps will age independently
Hence the reason most people run doubles on each wheel

Whaaaaa? I know it is based on setup, tuning, bypass etc., but I go through at least one set of straps a year :pout:

I’m thinking I shim mine up for now. Rig doesn’t leave ground much if at all, and not like they’re hard to replace on the fly anyways.

Not a permant solution but a twist of the strap will help shorten the length in a pinch

Can anyone advise if either of these two rusty shits are OEM tundra axles? I don’t know why I bother with LKQ. Nothing is listed correctly and everything looks like it came from the bottom of the sea.

Straps and cv boots are an annual/bi-annual maintenance item for me as well.

Neither one is OEM. Look for axles from 3rd gen’s.

That figures. It’s for a 3rd gen 4Runner with JD fab LT. Think it’s the same for 1st gen 3.5” LT tacos.

Only read that only modified 1st gen OEM tundy axles work for it, but I don’t know poo diddly.
