the engine cage and cross bracing helps mitigate a lot of that compared to a none caged truck as well.

No doubt. The final revision on frame plates are far different for a non caged truck. One of my bolt sleeves actually goes directly through the engine cage as well. Then we have the ram, which takes 40-60% of the stress away from the box. So it all compiles to not much load being applied to any single point.

Do you plan on mounting the P/S cooler like pictured. I had asked Howe about that and If remember correctly they stated that the outlet needed to above the inlet. My concern is of air possibly getting trapped. I would also try to get the reservoir higher so the outlet to the pump is all downhill.

Absolutely. I’m definitely not the only one running horizontal. My system bled perfectly fine this evening and first start/run was flawless. It was the best location I had available to me for most optimal cooling.

FWIW, these coolers are basically straight through. There really isn’t a place to trap air.

And as far as line positioning goes, as long as your reservoir fluid level is higher than your hoses, you won’t have issues. No joke, 4 turns lock to lock and I was 100% bled. Zero pump noise on startup. So definitely no aeration.

My cooler is also horizontal and never had a air issue… there is pressure pushing thru so the chances of air actually sticking is slim to none.

Good to know as I may need to relocate my cooler in the future for mounting a winch.

Something I wanted to put out there for the JD pivot guys.

I believe the new version of the pivots is different, however the early version had rings to reduce hole size down to 9/16 for the 2nd gen.

With those rings removed, the slots are actually .754”. So instead of running a 5/8” bolt it really should be a 3/4.

I had my uniball spacers opened up and a flat cut in a 3/4 bolt and simply moved my front cams to the rear as my fronts are different now.

May be worth a call to JD to see if Jesse would work with you to up the rear cam/bolt/spacers to 3/4.

I have wondered what JDs process is for MIG welding all of their 4130 parts. It has been my understanding that TIG is the better process but maybe it's just the pre heat/post heat that matters more in creating a sound weld. @906taco I think it would have been best if those LCA uniball cups were welded THEN post machined to ensure roundness and a perfect press fit for the uniball, but this is the off-road industry after all, not aerospace lol.
