Yeah reverse mount would be super sick but this isn't a race truck so I'll make it work somehow

Can anyone smarter than I explain the lower bushing’s purpose since it can slide up and down? The stock ones were like this, too. I thought they were just blown out lol none of the other mounts are like this, just the center ones.

I see this on my OEM mounts as well on the 4runner… I assumed they were just blown from 30 years of driving…
Now I’m curious with the energy suspension kit too

I knew you were having issues with the long travel kit but damn didn't have to scrap the whole truck lol

Are you reusing the old hardware or is that new hardware. Would be weird if it was the same problem twice? Might have to check mine out. Looks like you’re missing a spacer or a sleeve.

Supposedly it’s crash safety related. The years before that body mount was implemented I don’t believe even had it. It’s not meant to be fully engaged as a body mount just some safety thing if the body was to buckle or some shit.

People postulated about body flex but that’s way to much gap for that purpose and when all the other body mounts look normal it doesn’t make sense it would be for flex either.

Interesting. Nice to know it’s not just me. Definitely wouldn’t want to be in the car if that gap ever closed lol
