Man I hope it will be, but this truck is causing delay after delay. Im hoping it gets to the driveline shop tomorrow. Once it moves under its own power again, I need to get 2 ac lines remade, a center console made, and a new exhaust made. Intake needs to get made too, but what I have right now works well enough.

Id like to say yes, but realistically, no, probably not. Once it is, bet on me being up there that first weekend.

None of that stuff sounds essential other than the driveline...

I'm hoping to be able to get my truck to the point I can bring it to hammers next year. Probably just 2wd, no body, no windows, only essential interior.

    Just send it!

It is 114 fuckin degrees here, AC is a must. And rn my exhaust is dumped underneath the driver and passenger seats. Also one thing I haven’t figured out is a rock/mud guard for the trans coolers.

Do what the drift people do and get a giant scotch brite pad and put it over the finned side
When it gets trashed Or dirty
    Replace

Yoooo that seems super fucking easy. But it does seem like flow would be greatly impacted.

    I mean
Drifting dudes are dealing with kick up from the ground and from melted rubber.
I’d say that if they can stand up to that it’s worth a hair of air resistance

assuming you don’t start getting hot as a result ofc

Atleast Brillo would be easy to wash if it gets saturated with mud. I guess. Easier than cooler fins probably.

Scotch brite pads are cheap enough to discard rather than deal with mud.

There are a ton of options for air filter media, we use the stuff every day on job sites in air handlers or neg air machines to control air quality. Just google air filter media ie:stuff like this you can get 2' x 2' pads or you can order it on a roll and cut it to your custom size https://www.abatix.com/4836-koch-filter-primary-24x24x1-50-cs.html

How does this effect flow though? Looks really restrictive. I was thinking of creating a shroud and ducting it to the top of the bedside

it is air filter media that is used on the intake side of air handlers so my assumption would be very minimal, kinda like that filter inside the OE air box

Guess I could always buy some and test it. It’s pretty cheap shit so.

It still doesn’t really defeat the problem I’m worried about. I’m worried of clogging it up with mud and having 0 flow while I’m still driving and getting the trans hot. Versus if I duct it to the top of the bedside I really don’t see how it could clog.

yup that's definitely a better solution

edit - i just saw you guys talking about using scotch brite as an air filter media and knew of a better product actually made for being an air filter vs a scrub pad for cleaning a toilet...

How does the air filter media work as a toilet scrub though? Inquiring minds want to know

probably not well… it’s not abrasive at all. We use it as soot filters in marine world on our air filter to help keep the primary from clogging up as quick
