Can had too many vacuum lines coming in
And the chase to find a leak was driving us all bonkers

Was making pressures fluctuate all over from day to day and drive to drive
Massively was effecting power and fuel consumption

Likely even effected the tuning at time of logging

mind you, can was set up entirely how manuf instructed.

    the solution:
Close off completely the intake port and the line from that to the can,
    Idle instantly resolved
    Power band instantly smoothed
Now just needs a proper log and adjustment

I’m no longer on the JD SUA. But always always cycle. No matter what. This is a step that should not ever be skipped!

Nobody said anything about skipping. I was just hoping to reference someone else who’s all knowledgeable like yourself…

What rear kit are you on now? Why'd you move away for the JD SUA?

I have a lot of questions being your response was very informative.

Ok, misunderstood what you meant. Sounded as if you were questioning if it were necessary. But it’s always best.

I’m now on my own rear kit. Jd just wasn’t for me.

So what's the idea behind people not running duals springs on short coilovers? Seems to be gospel to only run one spring on 10in coilovers or less but i don't see why it wouldn't work the same as with longer coils but just not as well. And i haven't seen any real explanations either

Simply not enough space. Stack height for two coils plus the spring separator is too tall for the fully compressed shock, or you would have such a short helper spring that it would be basically pointless.

Spring rates are limited in the lengths that would be required to make it effective.

IFS setups require a lot of spring due to the motion ratio. There's only a few options out there to get a combined spring rate that will hold the desired ride height.

    Yes
you’re talking about a 16” or 18” shock …your truck only has a 5” up front stock and an 8” with a lt kit

If the can doesn’t pull vacuum
    The crank case pressurizes

the can taps into the PCV that normally goes elsewhere

You’re not going to pull vacuum from a vented can. You’re simply going to have a massive vacuum leak. Either sealed can (if pulling vacuum is desired) or a vented can with large enough hoses from each valve cover. -10 or -12.

You do not need to pull vacuum from the crank case to eliminate crank case pressure.
