Wow what a deal for the forged aluminum wheels. But damn if they dont look very much like a TR beadlock knockoff. Even the websites of the 2 are very similar.

I have duro bumps and they are fairly good. I would recommend them. Had them for about 3 years I think and holding up good to abuse.
Just curious, why not hydro bumps?

I just bought a set from Perry parts to try out. Strongest case for any bumpstop I've seen that's not a hydro bump. I haven't been out to push them yet though so no personal input.

Swapped rear coils to a 400x16 and 450x18 set on either side. The 300s were not cutting it with the RTT and sagging even under the spare tire weight. Rear ride height back to where it should be with flat panhard on the 3link.

I have Perrys, they work great, can't compare to hydro though.

Curious why not hydro? They really aren’t that expensive for how much better they are over a traditional.

@notsosr5 on IG hunted me down last week to check out the truck. Long story short we got together for a solid throw down yesterday and ran over 100 miles of dirt. Absolutely solid dude killing it with his build! (JD pivots, 2.25”, free bleeds and hydros)

Already talking about doing it again next year. Would love to get a few more Midwest dudes involved!

with my 2800lb front axle weight I completely flatten Durobumps on the JD 2.25 kit on "tame" trails i.e. wheeling in colorado.
I was concerned about this prior to the trip so I spaced them down an inch to keep the uniballs from binding, so glad I did, because i have hex head contact imprints on the JD LCA powdercoat.

I just put Perry parts on, haven't done anything but street driving so far but I'm hoping they work better for this application. DRTfab in the comments on my insta post mentioned Durobumps has extended bumps but I don't see it on their website and I'm already trying Perry parts now so I'm crossing my fingers this works out. If not I'll go hydro but it seems overkill for "overlanding" to me :D

Best place to put limit strap on TC kit with double shear and bypasses. Trying to keep it away from axle and tie rods. No room to put it where TC wants from instructions with double shear

The more vertical a shackle runs the softer the rate is. So it will blow through travel quickly until it firms up, then it ramps exponentially. By running more angle it’s much more predictable and fluid through the range of motion.

Below is a picture showing how shackle angle is measured and how angle influences rate.

Double shear and shock hoops today, revalved the coilovers. Took 8 freaking hours, didn't run into any issues other than rear shear bracket did not fit well at all on either side even with trimming. Maybe my shock towers were tweaked?

Also do you guys run a bead on the top hat portion of the shock hoop once it's bolted down? With coilover out there is def some gap with the shock hoop. Wasn't in TC install instructions but seems beneficial

My towers were definitely bent up some before I installed the double shear and bypass hoops.
I bent/pulled them back before welding in. I didn’t weld my hoops to the towers on my camburg kit.

This kind of rust is new to me. Not sure how to handle it. That’s a hole through the cab up front. Don’t want to weld this close to all these wires or bother with cutting out rocker panels from a donor…

anything I can do to stop the rust and seal these spots? I figure since we’re in the south it will slow down significantly so I just want to keep the water out and stop the rusting. Structurally everything is fine. Is there a seam sealant or something that would work? Not fond of the spray foam solution from the previous owner
