A little Easter egg I found on my 05 a few years ago.

Early 2nd gens were known for motor mounts collapsing into frame, I found my truck has a dmz motor mount gusset kit installed, welds are perfect.

Bought my truck in NC in 2016 that came from California it's entire life as a fleet vehicle. Bone stock prerunner.

I'm sure dmz wouldn't keep records that long for work orders but I'm curious if my truck was a test mule or something for this kit.

Also wouldn't think an owner of a bone stock Tacoma would care about stuff like that.

Dumb post but I've always wondered about why it's been done.

I have a guy local that will do a TEdesign cage install for just under 2k....but that price is literally just the cage...meaning you gut the interior for him. Pretty sure even closing out the holes thru the floor is extra. i actually had the guy finish off my cage because I was burned out doing it myself. He just did the part from the cab down to my bedcage. Really good work and very reasonable and done in 1 day. IMG_2926.jpg

I bought my truck used in 2009 and it had the DMZ kit installed already also. Just to give a sort of timeline when the frame brace was made. Being a fleet truck there could have been a connection with other trucks in their fleet that had issues if the truck was used off-the-road for the fleet business so they had them installed.

Evil MFG actually sent me a unit: IMG_3612.jpg

I’ll probably end up installing this one if anyone wants to buy the 3D printed one that was made for me: IMG_3489.jpgS2 not included, cost me $200 so that’s what I’d like out of it, I’ll cover shipping.
