Get some stainless hardware. Crappy black aerocatch stuff started to rust after I hosed the truck off.

 

I'm thinking of running some flat bar under the core support. I can easily bend the pins way too easy. But for now the hood doesn't move on washboards

 

The curse of the coastal Carolinas. If I leave a piece of steel raw on my truck over night, it's completely rusted by morning.

 

TE designs said they will probably be releasing the double cab Cage kit in about a month!

 

I mounted my hood pins to just the core support and one fully ripped out of the core support and the other is about 75% cracked, so whatever you do reinforce where you mount it.

I’ll probably add thicker plates in the corners of the core support and try to find a different hood to start fresh with.

 

This looks tempting. Between my stock hood paint looking like crap and the louvers for heat... Might not be bad.

 

Anyone know if a group 35 battery will fit behind the back seats of a double cab? Found a good deal and not near my truck to measure.

Only other issue with a aftermarket hood is clearance.
When the S/C goes on the shock tower crossbar will need to be changed/moved and that may cause some hood clearance issues. maybe.

Any of yall with a raptor or bronco that can compare the size of one of the aluminum LCAs to a tacoma one? Like hold one up to the other or rough measurements. I've been spitballing the idea of making a set for my truck by using a forged aluminum LCA from a factory vehicle as like a skeleton and then fabbing up bolt on mounting points to get it to fit

 

Like regular bronco? I have a badland Sasquatch I can hold a stock gen2 Tacoma LCA up too

 

The raptor arms are huge. Compared to a factory Tacoma arm? Lol. I don’t have a stock one to compare or I would for ya.

It's gonna get chopped up either way, just needs to be bigger than the tacoma one, and not stupid far off in shape. The forged aluminum aspect is what i'm really after

 

The arm pockets don’t align, back in slot, front goes to back of front pocket

 

This one actually looks similar in size.

the raptor control arms are massively bigger.

 

The bronco arms are couple inches longer looking at them
