There should be pics in my build thread. But with leaf’s you have to run an anti-wrap bar. Not a trac bar. So top and bottom of the axle and then the front pivot point is on a shackle. I built a cross member for the shackle to mount to.

Edit: if you need more pics shoot me a message and I’ll send some tonight

Do yourself a favor and replace them with bigger bolts. They are tack welded on so you have to use a chisel. Looks cleaner and those studs are exposed and get mangled so easy.

Did you just use like an air hammer to get them out?

So as I'm drawing out plans for my bed cage, I am hung up on this one section.

For those that have built bed cages, what angle did you mount the shock? I've been doing reading how the shocks will operate best at 90°, be easier to valve etc. which I'm assuming that at a 90° angle it'll be about a 1:1 ratio.

However I see some guys mount their shocks at an angle, like maybe 75-80°.

Any pros and cons to either?

You could but be careful because the metal is super thin and will bend. I used a sharp chisel and broke a tack off and hammered on them a little.

What options are there for 3rd gen steering?

I think I asked this once before but I got mixed info. The modified Tundra rack works good but supposedly prone to leaking. JD fab makes a slider but not for the 3rd gen? Is any of this wrong? What other options are there?

I've not seen many tundra racks leaking, but you do lose a bunch of steering angle. 74weld is apparently coming out with a rack but it will be very expensive. @906taco is coming out with a swingset that I'm guessing will also be expensive, but not sure. Also not sure if he's confirmed that it fits on a 3rd gen yet.

Stay tuned. I have something in the works for a factory rack. The swingset is not cheap, and it’s an enormous job. But it’s absolutely epic to drive.

That said I’m hoping this plan of mine works out for the factory rack. Because keeping the factory rack is the absolute best case scenario if you don’t want to spend 15k+.

You don’t want them to travel past 90 during their movement or there is a chance they will want to bind. Rule of thumb I was told was 15° forward at ride height.
