I’m aware lol. It was more sarcasm than anything. I personally prefer hand notching.

I've done a mod or two
That takes forever, but if you aren't doing much I guess it's fine. If you were being paid hourly I'd disclose that you do them by hand though haha. I like the ones that use a roughing endmill instead, they're good for doing offset joints too which is nice.

This cage and every other I’ve done has been all by hand. Can notch right in the cab and not have to play the back and forth game on more complex notches. I feel I’m way faster without. Though I will use one for straight notches if I have a bunch to do.

That's impressive. I could not imagine grinding down all my notches, let alone a full cage like yours.

fastest way ive found for the complex stuff is to ballpark on the notcher and then fine tune with the grinder. cuts out multiple minutes per fit, even with anti-vibe gloves, the less time on the grinder the better. your hands will thank you in 20 years when you still have feeling in your fingertips. I also prefer the safety glasses with a notcher over the face shield/respirator and hearing protection for the grinder. that's mostly just because its hot here though.

Sharpie, 4.5” cut off to rough in and an angle grinder with a 3” 60 grit disk for fine tuning. Only 3 things needed. Just something that comes together with time.

The only things that used to raise hell with my hands were metal body air tools. I made the switch to composites years ago and paired with gloves my hands are doing just fine.

You should do some digging and see if you have a laser close to you. I found out about 6 months ago I have one an hour away and their pricing is literally 1/3 send cut send with like 1 business day turn around! Damn tempted to not have a CNC in the shop anymore.

Took the advice others here had for my LCA bushing woes, simply couldn't get the poly to survive, so made a set of TC sized LCA bushings but out of delrin since none were available off the shelf. Next up will be figuring out how to conservatively align the truck vs the "get it as far from the cab as possible" approach.

Caster in the 3-4* range will keep steering the happiest. Personally prefer very little camber but everyone is different. Try to set your alignment so your cams are as neutral as possible. This will lessen the wear at the pivots.
