Because we have bigger fish to fry, so we tune for off road and remind ourselves to take corners a bit slower driving to the grocery store.

Funny thing is, I have very little body roll at all. But there are times a terrain change could use a tube change as well.

Kinda comparing apples to oranges but the application is almost identical: Lexus AVS. They have little servos on top of the shock that turn an adjustment screw that affects ride quality.

I think packaging is probably an issue, a lot of people have tire clearance issues with the bypass tubes as it is already, you'd have to have a remote adjuster. Kind of like those flexible 1/4 drill adapter thingy:

I usually open my smallest tube at ride height up most all the way for street. Then turn the slow speed up on the fox’s.
Keeps the body roll down and makes the smaller road bumps and cracks non-existent !

Air or hydro. My guess is it’s for big sends. I can only see it being completely open or completely closed.

Although, I guess it could be shimmed so it’s not just wide open either. Lots of possibilities here.

RobMac's old setup..he always says "I want it soft, except for when I need it hard" or something like that. Now it's all servos and algorithms if you know what I mean

Doesn’t Fox have live valve that do the same thing but controlled electronically? I know some big name TT teams on Fox who have that setup though it’s very hush hush.

Fox has a few different electronic applications.
I’m not an expert, but the Raptor stuff has been electronic for a bit, plus Polaris and Can-Am OEM stuff on the higher trims.

The SxS Usually have three or four different base presets, As well as an “oh shit” Button at stiffens up the whole car as long as it, the button is depressed.
They also counter nose dive, body roll, and acceleration squat automatically with sensors in the car.

I don’t think they have anything Universal or motorsports sold to the public, but I haven’t really looked either.

I think many sleep on the possibilities of electronically controlled dampening. Coming from the car world, if you’ve got the money you can get pretty wild with it. Going from a car that rides like a Cadillac to a car that’s taking hair pins at 80-90mph with a push of a button.

Knowing the off-road industry is constantly progressing, I wouldn’t be shocked if this is more prevalent on race vehicles than we know. It would be a massive factor in eliminating driver fatigue which is likely the hardest battle to overcome.

You simply cannot tune perfection for all driving and terrain types. It’s just not possible. Unless, you could literally have tune maps and full control of them on the fly. Who wouldn’t want something like that?

Pretty sure trophy trucks have it and I know the top ultra 4 cars have live valve technology. It’s just expensive

Absolutely. But so is everything else amazing in life. Shocks that work through everything would yield far greater results than just adding travel numbers.
