It's less Tacoma and more mod
I could see it being a thing one day, few PWM controlled solenoids and some large enough tubes...

I ordered some shock position sensors (linear potentiometer) for a drag racing build I'm working on but I'm half tempted to bolt them up to my truck first and log them in the Haltech to see what kinds of rates I'm working with over a few types of terrain.

Yep, I’ve used position sensors myself for drag cars. They offer a ton of beneficial data. I think the single hardest part will be components that handle the extra abuse. But I’d like to believe we have that tech by now.

Any tips or tricks to sticking this dmz kit on?
Tim sent me the instruction sheet. 2 measurements and good luck lol.

What's everyone's rear ride height with this kit? 3 inches over stock? More/less?

Should be here within a week. Spent the weekend stripping the axle and front spring perches, as well as filling the old holes in the frame from the old stuff.

Shouldn’t need more than a couple simple measurements for SUA. I’m sure you’ll be fine!!

I doubt you’re going to gain much over stock for height once the packs break in. Personally I sit stock height on H70HD’s. But have 4” of lift from tires.

    @906taco

Did you go with a PRP slider kit, or just hard mount the seats for you as the driver? If you have the sliders, do you like them?

Really liking the podium elites the more i look at them, and the custom colors are a nice little cherry on top.

Solid mounted to the cage. Too much potential of a slider failing in a bad situation for my liking. I spent many hours sitting in different positions before finding one I like. They are as low as you can possibly put a seat and I have zero regrets as it made head clearance a “zero concern”.

It wouldn’t be cheap, but I think those that want to chase every possible bit would happily pay it. Having experience in cars with the high dollar electronic control, I wouldn’t think twice myself.

Perfect. Thats the direction i was leaning. I actually really like the lower seating position of the stock seats. Never understood these seat raisers everyone is using. The upper portion of my cage is going on the outside of the truck, so i wont have the head-meet-tube concern, but i do have some abnormally tall friends who will appreciate it staying low.

Do you recall roughly how much higher your front mounts are than your rear? Or do they get the mounting points pretty well leveled for a good starting position? Did you use their fixed position side mounts and tab to those or did you just make tour own brackets completely? Family life is a bit busy at the moment, so im trying to expedite my "figuring thigs out" time where possible by getting a good baseline position to start from.

Pretty close to if not level with the floor. At this height you’re sitting lower than a factory seat which I find to be far more comfortable than a tall seat that pressure points your hamstrings on longer drives. Wife and I both can handle being in my truck longer than her off-road with stock seats. The comfort difference is incomprehensible.

Thanks for the photos, they look like a great fit. Am i looking at building a new center console as well, or were you jus not done reassembling in those photos?

console/armrest would have fit otherwise though? i have to keep the back benches as is until my little one is big enough for a full sized seat with a booster, and if possible keep the stock center console for that duration as well. once she's big enough for a full sized seat with i'll tear out the rest of the interior and build it the way i want it.

I don’t see why it wouldn’t have fit. Honestly never tried. Definitely wouldn’t make a console a game ender for nice seats either way.

definitely not a game ender. just trying to maximize the time I spend in the shop. the extra time i spent ironing out the details of the back half, sitting in my office always, always seemed to pay off with time and effort savings every time i worked on the truck. Surprises are great for birthdays, but shitty when you're pulling measurements inside your truck.

Learned long ago, surprises come with every job you do. I just don’t like the big ones anymore. I just look at them as a learning/growing experience now.

im in a 2nd gen :notsure: once you have the cage/seat/harness, you're free to remove them all. if you just want nicer seats with the factory shoulder belt have at it and keep rolling with the airbags.
