Long Travel BS Thread

Damn, 16" of travel, Mike only claims up to 15" on his website Do the leafs start to seperate at that point? So are you currently strapped at 15"?

Also,did Muke make the shock hoops lower for the 14" shock?

 

16" isn't really useable, in my set up. Mikes claims up to 15" of useable wheel travel, which seems about right. Again, that was no shocks, no bumps and straight against the frame. The leafs could've gone more if the frame was notched. Maybe another inch or so.

Im not sure what Mike used as reference when making the hoops. I was excited about it for the fact of being about to use his hoops, once squared together, as reference for my consumption ratio.

 

Seeing these posts makes me want to do this setup. I cannot afford it right now, but I know this is what I want.

 

I've been extremely happy with this setup. Even when I was running it with Bilstein 5100's it performed pretty decent. I've recommended it since day 1 for anyone who isn't up for the time it takes to relocate the hangers and still wants a SUA that provides a good amount of travel... Just my 2c

 

For those of you who have Glassworks bedsides with the fuel filler mold, how did you guys line up the fuel filler to the fuel filler mold? Did you guys have to get an extension or longer filler tube?

 

A 4runner fuel part was used as an extension. Someone asked me for the part number but i couldnt find it anywhere. I know a bunch of the guys over on TTORA (desert section) have had the part installed and may know the part numbner.

 

HHmmmm got any pictures of this?

 

I think they also use the extension from the FJ cruiser as well.

 

Ya Tim at DMZ uses yhe FJ and so does Camburg

i agree, its a killer deal for what your getting, but at the same token; not many peeps are willing to pay any amounts for some backyard fab.
I'd love to check it out and see what kind of work he did. If it performs well and is water tight from the rain it would be a really cool rig to have on so many levels.
