Not a true paddle shift it is auto and has the "option" and it is incredibly fast. its not like other auto/paddle shifts that take 3 seconds to shift. pops right into gear and off you go. but im sure Jt will know more

EDIT: He answered haha but it has the option of paddle or auto correct?

is that a trim specific option or just an option in general on all GTI?

looking to sell my wife's new beetle and pick up something way cooler. i hate that fucking car... she want's to stick with VW, which i'm ok with as long as it's fun to drive

Its pretty much as true of a paddle shift as they come. There's a paddle, you push it, and it shifts lol

But yes it can also be driven as an auto, you can also use the slap shift style shifter on the auto stick.

Whats pretty cool is no matter what scenario your in, as soon as you hit the paddle it jumps into manual shifting right away. But if you dont shift at redline, it still shifts for you like an auto.

Oh and they come factory with launch control built into the programming of the TCM/ECM combined.

Right on man! Let me know if you every need anything I work at a VW dealer here in phx.

DSG's come standard on all GTI's and GLI's, which yes are trim specific models of Golfs and Jettas. You can also get a DSG in the new Clean Diesels (Clean Diesel is whole new conversation on those lol, quick example 260ftq and 35mpg)

Pretty much any turbo model with a DSG is fun to drive!

LOL Yes on GTI's and GLI's. You can get a CC with DSG but they dont have paddles. VW was trying to target more of a luxury type sedan while maintaining a performance style I guess

PM me if anyone ever wants any inside details on VW's, Subaru's, or Mazda's. I do parts for all three.

Like what breaks, what leaks, whats covered under warranty, what we do under warranty all the time, etc.

My wifes was sunflower yellow, I wish it was lime green. It was also some kind of special edition so the entire interior was painted to sunflower yellow, oh yea yellow leather also. It was as gay as they come. Also same electrical problems, to many wires run through the drivers door. Reran wires to replace broken ones a few times.

No more small cute cars. Im not a little guy so I cant handle little cars,
