I did if for the opposite reason, my mid travel pulled too many hoes. Needed to go faster through the dez to get away from them.

Fiberglass totally drops panties! I should have stayed stock and threw on a front clip on...

Great video Nick! I will add Toyota CV grease comes with Toyota OEM boot kits and will have all new clips too. I like toyota grease because it has graphite.

Thanks for making that vid, it really helped me out at 1 a.m. while installing lt, by far the most frustrating and time consuming part of the install.

 

Sooo the more I learn the more I sweat about my wallet and radically changing the appearance of my truck which I like so much (holes in the bed, fiberglass bedsides...). I had pretty much decided to go with All Pro's long travel. But hearing about all this other work like reinforcing engine mounts etc. I am starting to wonder how deep this rabbit hole is going to take me. I know I want to build on the already great Toyota platform so I am committed to these upgrade. I need to decide whether the rear suspension will be the All Pro setup with the Expedition springs or the Defined Engineering SUA set up and their bedside supports. I am turning the corner on accepting fiberglass fenders to allow me 35" tires. Does anyone have Defined's shackle mount cross member on their truck? If so what kind of impact have you seen on the handling on and off road? I am going searching for a bumpstop thread for more info on those but if anyone wants to throw in a testimonial on a particular manufacturer that would be swell.

You in MA? Where are you going to be able to use a desert suspension at there?

 

Just figured the LT would give me the best bang for the buck as far as clearances, rock/obstacle crawling, etc. over like a DB lift. Irealize the terrain up here might keep me from building a big head of steam like you see in desert videos but my truck is only a couple years old and I am not going to do SAS just doesn't make sense to me. I guess tis all about the potential capability and it seems like the LT setups maximize the great Toyota IFS system. Am I way off here?

 

Maybe a good mid travel or if u need more...the all pro lt/ or TC 2.5" or whatever it is....

Planning on going LT, using the All Pro kit and the suggested Fox Resi's am I going to need to change wheels/ tires if I'm running FJ Trd TT with 265-75/16? I plan to keep stock fenders and eventually move tire sizes but as for the meantime run the tires I have now.
