What does he have for bumps in the front? You can valve a shock so much but if you get into jumps and big whoops the All Pro is restricted since you can't mount a second bypass shock.

For pure desert running the wider kits are just going to be better. All pro does have the capability of running fast but I bet it won't keep up with the other kits. The AP kit is a good all around kit. Vitang's truck had AP and it did well but he loves the desert and now has the engage.

If your trails aren't to narrow, def get the tc kit. You will have more options if you go with them or camburg

Well, I recall looking at MJp2's build thread and he wrote about how his all pro LT busted on him. I know he races his truck too and probably pushed it too far, that and when I bought my skid plate from Allpro their customer service was lame not to mention the people I dealt with were not the nicest. I don't mean to down play the company as they produce some great products, but I haven't seen any busted Engage kits. I agree, TC and burg make great kits as well, and yes they are wide but wide has it's benefits on the right trail as we all know. Engage does make a kit that does work with 4x4, you can just add a spindle to the 2x if you want.
You're right, 2wd is better for all out super speed pounding and it wouldn't do well on the small trails. You could probably pound on the Allpro LT pretty hard and it wouldn't bust, but yea, I would prefer to have a kit where a bypass is optional. At least you could probably install air bumps w/ the Allpro.
    true.
I dig em both. Like pepsi and coke, which one do you want?

get something slightly older thats 4x4 and long travel. being in SD you have alot of good trucks near you. then beat the holy hell out of it, fix it and do it all over again. thats what a truck is for right. pretty trucks are for girls. my 2 cents

Slight correction. I busted my Camburg LT setup, but it was because I installed something upside down and the weight of the truck was sitting on a C-clip.

The kit now comes with instructions. :)

I love the look and idea of LT, but unless you are doing it to a weekend truck and plan on using it often I don't see any benefit to a DD.

thought about that too, maybe pick up an old lt 4x4 off racedezert or DR... but I like the power, size, and looks of the 2nd gen taco. Comfortable for long drives, good for daily commutes, reasonable mpg for V6.

I appreciate a clean good looking truck, but I have no problem getting it dirty!

Right? :p I ran the AP UCAs with Light Racing jounce shocks. The jounce shocks allowed the suspension to overcycle the UCAs and caused all kinds of problems.

Any 1" uniball setup would suffer from the same problem, which is why I recommend 1.25" uniball UCAs anytime someone asks. The 1" stuff is fine with stock bumpstops, but things change dramatically once those bumps are altered.

4x4 with camburg 1.25" ball ucas and some 2.5 coilovers, camburg claims 11" of travel with this set up. I'm highly considering going this route because I can't justify lt with only wheeling once a month and a lt 4x4 is strapped at 14"
