Yeah, probably, but part of this game is being pretty as well as functional.

Unless one has the ability and know how to install something like this I wouldn't see folks buying it. Most just stick to simple inexpensive bolt on product that requires no modification.

Yeah, that's why I tried to do something different with this kit and make it as bolt on as possible. It still requires some welding, but I think I hit the mark with the general idea. Everything on my truck is anything but mainstream fab. work so I like to stick with that theme.

I have no problem with the install! it would just be the precision in the design of manufacturing the parts.
    Keep it up :D

    I haven't forgotten.

On another note,.........There is good news......and bad news.

The good news is, you guys get to watch me design some more un-necessary shit because I made a mistake.

The bad news is the rear end was a ticking time bomb. It'd been getting louder and louder. So I pulled it apart and all the bearings were hurt. I figure I didn't get the housing clean after sand-blasting even though I cleaned on it for about 4 hours, so I'm going to replace the bearings and build a full width housing using T-100 shafts. It'll be a fully fabricated housing so it will be an upgrade in strength over stock, and I won't have to run the wheel spacers any more.

I can't get the tires off of the grand without a lift or cherry picker any more

Needed a beefier bearing and seal driver for the 3rd rebuild so I made one.

    20150228_165227_aa1e1d44885ab827f296d0c9711da17dd34ad91c.jpg

The good part is I can laser cut dies for any size bearing or seal now without issue and I know they'll never fail. I wonder how many I'll get up to before I kick the bucket.

The knurling process for those that are interested

PPL was 19 in-lbs dry, 17 wet before any run in. Back lash was 0.006" and I pre-loaded the carrier bearings a bit more than they were when it came out. Pinion checking depth was accurate to the thousandth. Overall I'm pretty happy with the setup. The only way I could get the housing clean though was to pull it and hose it for about 20 minutes before I was happy with the results. Not ideally what I want to do on a bare metal housing, but it had to be done. I also started the design on the new fabbed housing. Pics to come.

Picking up another project this weekend.

    1614570_10103698649698252_37494169820320_52af34cbc2e65944b2e345e46530044825504b9c.jpg

The Tacoma drives amazingly well with the bed on. ADS did wonders with these shocks. Going to finish up the details soon and get it all powder coated and then go to work on the front. Still working on the design of the rear axle.

Been swamped with other projects lately but I did get the OBA hooked back up last night and found a new sweet spot for the quick connect, since I no long have a stock fuel neck.

    A few updates.

After our last run out with the bed, I discovered I had severe tire rub issues, so I came home and fixed that.

    20150509_133848_c992a556ad8a7aacbb87b0711782b9d479f2f5f1.jpg
    20150509_153229_35396327ef9ecf6534adb79aca5c8e692c7fdc41.jpg
    20150509_153452_a5f357c72476d13033f654cf5cfdb2d46139af34.jpg

and after adding the spare tire, it is sitting a bit low so I am going to have to up the pre-load on the rear springs or change the rates as I still have about another 300 lbs of shit to add to the bed.

Also, swapped out the flowmaster 40 for a 2.5" Magnapack. Much smaller and sounds better.

    20150502_114124_efe3f2886dd0e77172dccd0e18d26b696eb00d92.jpg

Also completed the rest of the exhaust. Sounds better than ever

    20150517_163102_ab6837695f715fb97744412c42fb53a60c0fbbdc.jpg
    20150517_135659_3487f9317a599138917f202609a9698621d18325.jpg

Finished molding in the rear upper link mounts to the diff. housing. They need a bit more clean up, but I'm not worried about them bending anymore. (Also, on that note about housings, I've started working on the front end of the truck again since it's severely lacking before continuing with the custom rear housing as it's not necessary at this point since I got it moving again).
    20150504_202318_c09854ffe112de5aff788eeb9c7fadeef416db62.jpg
    20150505_134659_facacb35908c4fda683e31f4f855af81e97b4eb7.jpg

Also hooked up the E-brake which is nice to have in the rocks.

and for those wondering, pricing on the Fuel cell and cradle would be in the $500-600 range without the sending unit mods. I am working on how to make this work without any modifications or an easier drop in unit.

and just for fun, we had 3 very different builds in front of the house the other day.
