I guess it's a good thing you've got a bedside. Reaching over that thing would suck. Looks good dude.

Build thread in sig... 4-link long travel
Drill and tap a hole in the top of the spare tire "stinger" for one of these, and you won't scratch the shit out of the paint every time you have to open the tailgate.

Nice, will have to do that.

Here's a pic with the tire down and tailgate open as some asked for:

How much weight did you end up saving? I know tubing is lighter construction than full plate but it still seems like a lot of tubing.

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
I really want to like this new bumper and I do think it is a slick look and very different but...

The whole functionality of a swing out is gone. It seems like it would be a huge PITA to camp/live with this setup. I would be really blown away by this design if it still swung side to side using pull pins so you could rotate it either way depending on which set up pins you pulled. In my head I am thinking about how the Tiregate ones work.

Not knocking it all and I think this a great idea but the fact that you have to heft the tire up and then stand around it/on it to get into the bed makes me wonder about how you will be liking this swingdown design in a few months. I was using one of those CBI hitch swingout(dropdown actually) things and it only lasted for a few weeks before it was gone. The lifting and dropping with the weight of a 33 and it being in the way when I was trying to use the bed drove me nuts!

Again I think this thing looks killer and I love the fact that its different from the cookie cutter mold we often fall into here. I would be interested to see if you could add in a assist piston setup to aid in raising/lowering down the line.

Not trying to be a hater here.... Just this guys Opinion.

I'd say about 50-60lbs. At least this bumper I can lift myself.

You seem to forget I have a bed slide. Swing the tire down and the bed comes to me:

A swingout would have ideal, however there are not many tube bumpers with swing outs for Tacoma, Bruteforce advised that it would require a lot of bracing to support a swingarm, which wasn't easy to do with a high clearance tube bumper design they use. So I went this route. It'll be on for trips but around town it'll be off since I can remove it so easy. But I am looking into a shock or something to assist. We'll see what ends up working.

    Thanks man!

Here's a couple pics from today hanging out at SCS.
