the only bump i have ever heard of being offered in a shock is a 1/2" rubber bump placed over the shaft, i would defenitely no use that as a "limiting bump" for a suspension system, i will wait for his reply....but as of now i call BS on that theory!

No bump on the truck right now. My bypasss have a crap load of bump valving and I have my second bypass valve almost completely shut off. So it can and will hit, it just hasn't hit since I switched to my 18's. I'm sure my luck will soon run out and my bedside will be on the side of a trail somewhere. Haha.

Sure, what would you like to see? I have a few pictures around here somewhere. Axel pictures? Springs? Or should I just post whatever I can find?

It alot like an internal bump stop. Stack the hell out of the compression valving so that when it passes the last compression port it spikes! We did a few experiments on the dyno and it works really well. So it seems to be working so far.

I agree, I need bumps. I have them I just haven't made mounting brackets for them yet. One of the many things on my 'to do' list. The 'internal bump' set up on my shocks isn't like a conventional air bump but the pressure internally are REALLY high at high velocities 'in the zone'.
The regular piggy backs have a very similar setup. Most of our piggy backs have a 'bump zone' on the last 20-25% of the travel and the spike is pretty substantial.

I mean honestly all he had to do was read the quote and it would have all become quite obvious. Oh, btw, I just received a PM telling me i can't insult other members, so I guess DB is not included in that. Thanks DB

Engage Front Long Travel, Giant Rear Long Travel, KR Fab rear bumper, tire gate and Jerry Can cage.
Shocks can be made custom with an internal bump stop in their valving system. Giant Motorsports offer their Link Killer rear suspension with an internal bump stop so you don't require an external bump stop

While this is true, and I have the Giant Link Killer setup, I'd still reccomend them. I still have rear bumps. They are just plain old rubber bumps, but I have them set to hit just shy of 1/4" before full compression.

And how bout we go back to making this a PICTURE THREAD

Adding a couple pix of my dirty bitch:

The internal bump phase of the bypass shock acts to drastically slow the suspension compression but does not apply additional force to return the suspension to ride height.

That second part is where hydraulic bump cans come in. Once on the hydraulic bump, the pressure in the can effectively increases the suspension's weight rating (imagine suddenly running 900 lb coils instead of 600 lb coils) but only for the time that the suspension is in contact with that bump.

It allows for a soft, smooth ride over most terrain while enabling the suspension to recover quickly in the event of hard hits, bumps, jumps, etc.

It's not attached to my truck, it's attached to the sign. Take another look at the first picture and you can kinda see their sign hanging from the bay.

Who was recommending anything? That's just what I did. You can set up your truck however you'd like. Thats just what I did on my truck for the time being.
