I'm still on the search for a transmission and transfer case :burp:

Btw with things opening up, you let me know when I can come over so I can replace my UCAs.

That way at the same time I'll just pull off the Fox and throw my Kings in.

@Kwikvette... you have the diff, spindles, and CVs for your swap... right?

My diff is at @BartMaster1234 so need to figure out when I can pick that up.

I'm gonna owe him some alcohol for holding it for so long lol

I have spindles, axles, and new manual hubs as well. Also have a manual diff tube with new bearing as well.

I did consider putting on my Icon UCA when I swap the front drivetrain out but I can't find a transmission/tcase nearby that isn't overpriced.

If you've got all that... you have everything you need for the front part of the swap. We could put all that in and you could run that way however long it takes to source a trans/tcase... with manual hubs especially... it would make no difference in diveablity what so ever.

I did the front part of my swap about 2 weeks before I did the big stuff. I could have gone longer, but I had all the parts and I'm an impatient mutherfuker.

    I really did consider that.

Shit man maybe I need to take a day off extra and we can knock that out.

I wouldn't be comfortable running the axles I have the way they are so I may order some new ones soon.

The CV axles would just be plugging the holes in the diff at this point. With manual hubs disengaged they wont even turn.

You can make it through most places with 35s and 4wd with skill and a spotter and maybe a little luck, but 4wd in my opinion is a must have lol

I was thinking parts of Dusy would be tough without 37s... John Bull and Coyote Lake are a couple others.

Yep, I'm not LT, but I have 35s, they are surprisingly more useful than the 33s I used to have lol

Last year's big Item was swapping to 4wd.

This year's big item is re-doing my suspension (resi shocks, shock relocate and flip kit, frame reinforce)

I think next years's big item is 5.29s and 35s.

@Kwikvette my bad. I’m super new to this community. I’m from Sacramento but currently live in Bakersfield for college. I’m surrounded by fields and dessert, and I usually only go North so I wouldn’t need a 4x4 to commute. Like I said most driving would be freeway or dirt road/fields. A couple times a year I go up North to Lassen National Forest because my family has some property up there. I just don’t want to go 4WD then have a tough time with a LT, but I also don’t want to go LT then get stuck and need 4WD.

@boston23 my original plan was just going 4x4 but I started looking into LT and it looks like a hell of a time!

Get a 4x4 you won’t regret it. Also since you’re in Bakersfield, check out Gorman OHV, or maybe it’s called hungry valley... nice little spot south of you I’ve been to

@Uphillshunter the problem is Im not sure what I want. I want to be able to now get stuck but it also looks like a great time flying down dirt roads and whoops. Is it possible to get both or would be that tough to do? Also I’m a mechanical engineering major and also looking into the option of designing something myself ( probably stealing a lot of ideas ) but still making the perfect truck for me. 4x4 would be great because I don’t want have to worry about getting stuck. Flying down dirt roads and desserts would be great, and if possible still be able to tow small loads like dirt bikes, maybe a pop up camper, and jet ski. Not sure if doing all that is possible but that’s why I’m here. I have family and friends that fabricate and I can use all the programs to design something if needed. Just want to make something special. This was my first car and I’ve put it through hell and don’t want to trade it in if possible
