    GO for it!!

I love the manual. My last truck was an F-150 with a REAL longbed. The bed length is definitely limiting on these things, but one foot difference isn't that much imo. They are both short beds in my book. You'll love the way the thing handles offroad too with the short bed. it's really nimble and feels like you can go anywhere.

Went in wanting to buy a double cab long bed in manual and found out they don’t exist. I chose manual over the long bed. I hate auto, I’m especially glad after hearing about all the autotragic issues everyone has and the constant gear shifting for no reason.

Owned both the auto and manual 3rd gen. Comes down to personal preference, but...
You will use the transmission (shift) every time you drive. Can you say the same for the bed?
I am not a fan of AC or the sport. But if you absolutely have to have a long bed, do yourself a favor and get the MT AC if the majority of your back seat passengers are non adults.

Manual OR. But I’m also biased. :)

Remeber u can get an OEM or aftermarket bed extender and for kayaks etc. they have plenty of options as well. Don’t settle if u really want a particular transmission.

Dont chastise me too much if this has been posted already as I didnt read all 3 pages but I have the TRDOR DCLB and if I had it to do all over again I would get the Sport DCLB in the manual and just add a locker. I was like you and forced to choose. Now that I have attempted to play with the traction control shit that is the only unique thing about the OR (besides the locker) I would go back and get the Sport and just buy an ARB locker and have my manual tranny too. Not even being able to engage the locker in 4HI either is a big downer. I was lied to by the stealership about that as well. "Oh yeah. You can use it in any transfer case postion" they said. The money you save should easily pay for a pimp ass compressor and locker!

But the long bed is an absolute MUST. You cant sleep in a short bed.....

I've had both an auto and a manual. I'm actually getting better fuel economy in the manual. Fuelly data in signature.

What kind of driving do you mostly do? Speed limit round here is 75 with traffic moving between 75-80. I want to be able to keep up with traffic and not hammer my mpg down to 15
