longer-lasting spark plugs

    Hi everyone,

    I Own a 2008 Tacoma with 72,000 and I am in need of a new spark plug change.

    Is there anyone that could tell me of a spark plug that I could use that is not original equipment that would get me the same results as original equipment but would give me more miles to the plug?

    Changing my spark plugs every 30,000 miles it's becoming a little bit of a pain in the ass. I hope to hear from you guys soon or gals.

    I have a TRD sport if that will help. But can you tell me what OEM stands for and where I will find them?

    Color matched door handles, Weathertech floor liners, bed mat, Durafit seat covers, tailgate clamp, 2016 TRD Sport 17" wheels with Yokohama Geolander AT tires , Toyota exhaust tip, Toyota/Yakima bike rail mount, Toyota wheel locks, Toyota hitch cover, Redline hood struts, unifilter on air pump.
    Denso and NGK make platinum and iridium plugs that will work, but there must be a reason Toyota didn't install them in the 4.0 at the factory. I would stick with the oem.

    Changing spark plugs every 30000 miles is becoming a pain in the ass??? Based on the year of the truck and the mileage they’ve only been changed twice in 10 years. Doesn’t sound like a pain in the ass to me. I don’t know what you’re expecting but you should just stick with the plugs you been using.

    Sorry guys,

    I guess I was just overthinking it in that 30,000 miles isn't really a big deal. For an hour and a half's worth of work that's not too bad. All of the research I did basically pointed me back to the OEMs anyways. Thank you very much for your help and have a great day

    I agree with @Sprig. Your owners manual calls for plugs to be changed every 30,000 miles...so change them every 30,000 miles regardless of the brand.
