Thinking of going long travel, wondering if fiberglass is a must or can I just do some major fender cutting. wanting to keep it semi low Center of gravity. Currently running a 3" leveling kit and 33s. Wanna go to 35/37s no extra lift. If you have pics id like to see

It's less Tacoma and more mod
I'm not long travel, but I am running 35s at nearly stock height with fiberglass fenders. But you could run the same setup without the fiberglass if you just cut.

You're gonna want to get fiberglass fender with 35's and especially 37's. I suppose you can cut the fenders but it's going to look (IMO) dumb. The wheels are going to stick WAY out if you don't get new fenders.

    What kit are you getting?

LT setups will keep you at that 2.75-3" of lift mark, so you shouldnt go higher, but LT goes wider. Wider is the problem with the OE fenders as they do not allow for proper uptravel of the wheel without substantial cutting. Cutting the fender high enough to retain the full cycle of the LT suspension will leave your air box fully exposed on the passenger side and will expose the inner apron of the engine bay. Fiberglass is aesthetics mainly, if you want the wheels to tuck in properly and not show off the "internals" behind the fender, fiberglass is absolutely going to be necessary to fit 35s or 37s with any LT kit. Pic below is the cut needed to fully cycle 35s without long travel, long travel will go higher and obviously stick out further (LT kits range now from 2" up to 5" added width per side) and will cycle higher on full compression.

This is 35”s with about a 3” lift without LT. cut 1.5-2” out of the fender(can’t remember exactly) I wanna say I just followed the body line along the fender.
