So what did you buy the truck for ? 41.8+ tax so around ~46k otd ? Plus the 15k mile warranty over the 60k you already got ?

About 46k is correct. I did add the 8 yr 75k extended warranty which they discounted. I only drive 3500-4000 miles a year so I will time out long before I hit 75k miles. Just a little peace of mind.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
Sandbags have nothing to with leveling the truck and everything to do with weight distribution. I lived in Michigan for most of my life and have used sandbags in the winter for rear weight behind and over the rear axle in three different trucks. It greatly improves your traction in snow and ice.

Yup, my 2WD 1989 Ford Ranger with 2.9L v6 5spd loaded with sand bags in the back really helped. Even with the crappy stock Firestone tires. I was amazed at where I could go in snow storms. Driver skill helps too.

    Oh the memories!

My first truck was the same thing! Except is was dark gray metallic with the light gray lower paint. Drove it for 11 years, 198k miles before selling to my cousins neighbor. His mom drove it for another 5 years in northern MI before I lost track of it.

It does and it doesn't. Adding sandbags adds weight to the rear giving traction to the rear wheels. By leveling the vehicle you change the center of gravity of the truck and transfers weight to the rear of the vehicle giving it traction for both breaking and acceleration. It also helps your rear end from bouncing so badly when you go over speed bumps, rocky terrain, or washboard roads. When turning and transferring weight to the front end it will help to prevent the rear end from coming around on you, some. After I leveled plus 2 inches on my Gen2 it really smoothed the ride out. Then I added the rack and baskets on the back and put in new leaf springs (courtesy of the Gen 2 recall on rear springs) and it made a huge difference on the ride. I hit 300K miles on it and it has never left me a day.

The nice thing about sandbags is, if needed you can empty them onto the ice and snow giving you traction when needed.

OP the icing on the cake will be when the dick salesman calls you up to try a "special deal" on their truck to save the sale, and you get to laugh in his face.
