Silver 2005 ACLB, V6 4x4 with 169,xxx miles on it.... I've been offered an initial quote of $10,385 but I'm willing to bet that he can go lower on it.

Have any pics? Especially frame and motor mount pics? Thats not to bad of a price IMHO for the amount of mileage. I would def have it looked at. If there is no rust I would jump on it.

The truck was just recently traded into the dealer and so they have it at a shop right now getting recalls done... a.k.a.: no pics available right now. But, being a mechanic I know what to look for on the frame and motor mounts.

to the budget question: yes it is due to budgeting problems right now, and yes it will be a daily driver. I know that the high miles could cause repair bills down the road but sense I'm partially buying the truck to have something I can take wheelin/camping, I'm expecting to have to do repairs anyway. (the cost of them doesn't scare me so much sense I know i can get parts almost at cost and do the work myself).

Ya I've been lookin into these trucks (as well as being addicted to TW) for well over a year now and have been workin on cars as long as I can remember.... I'd love to find something with lower miles but I know I need a back seat (even if its jumpers in an AC) and I really want 4x4 for the off-road. With those too criteria something with more like 120k or less is just out of my budget by thousands

I saw a member last week or so asking the same question but it was an 06 4x4 with 180k and they wanted 15k for it. These trucks hold there value so well it makes them pricey even used. I got on Kelly blue book the other day for shits and giggles to see the trade in for my 06 and it was the same as it was in 2009.

You got that right!! I've been lookin now for over a year tryin to find the cheapest but best quality truck I could get in my price range... and it is HARD! they'll either have REALLY high miles (200k+) or there's something major wrong.. I'm just hoping that doesn't end up being the case with this truck. *knock on wood*

My plan is to go in with the 8.5k cash that I've got + trade in and see if I can get it for that... (my trade aint worth much but we'll see).

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I like it. You like it. Try and get the price down, though. [IMG]

Don't wait for negotiations, do it now. Tacomas, especially 4x4s do not sit on car lots.

    yup too expensive.

You can get a superior 1st gen with way less miles for that.

I am on the fence with the price. I paid $3,650 for my 1990 Toyota Pickup. Yet I only paid 18k for my 2010 Taco out the door. I would say if you can get it between 8 and 9 it would be fair / good. Anything less is just a bonus.
