Looking at a 06' Tacoma and saw the frame looked fairly rusty!

Original owner. Nice guy. Service up to date, etc. WA state. Anyone in WA have their frame replaced? Also, does this only cover original owner and the time past to even get either a replacement (if qualifies), or repaired. Sorry, NOOB here and just came across all the rust scare stories online and doing my homework before I pull the trigger!

    Welcome to tacomaworld.

You do Not have to be original owner to be eligible for frame replacements.

Another member might know better if toyota is still doing the frame replacements on us 2nd gens...and if WA state is in the recal states.

I would not buy a tacoma with badly rusted frame (unless I added frame replacement to purchase price).

As of right now I don't believe Toyota is opening any new claims with frame rust. If the frame was coated/inspected by a Toyota dealer prior to March 31, 2016 (USA) it would have either a 12 or 15 year warranty on the frame from the in service date.
