My buddy is offering me an incredible deal on his 1992 Toyota Pickup sr5 4x4. It has a swapped 3.4l V6 from a '98 Tacoma, as well as the same trucks transmission. The engine only has 130XXX miles on it! I'm pretty excited to go look at it! What do you guys think?

I don't have much advice to offer, but ill tell you I own that exact one minus the engine swap and its and absolute beast. Only down side is its on the east coast of Canada and the body and exhaust have took a beating. But that truck is tougher than chewed whale shit!

Salt country? Inspect the frame well. As in beat it with a hammer and probe it with a pry bar. If you have a boroscope inspect the inside of the frame too.

yea dude, the truck has 260 on it, but the engine and tranny have 130. He is a mechanic and a good one. Family friend hooking me up. I just wanted to discuss it with you all here. I never even considered buying a pre-tacoma but man 5500 dollars is a good deal for this sexy beast.

I'm not trying to burst your bubble but imo it's expensive at $5500. You could buy a Tacoma for that price and have the newer body style and the original engine/tranny. On the other hand, it is in pretty good shape for its age. Check the frame though.
