the guy at work has a 1993 Toyota pick up. 22re, 4x4, manual transmission, extended cab, long bed, 323k miles. He'd let it go for around $2k. The reason I'm thinking of buying this truck is for a 23 year old truck it is PRISTINE! I mean no rust, no dents or major scratches. The interior is even better. All glass original and no chips or cracks. Some wear in the bed but nothing to think twice about.

He cranked it up after work last night and it's in need of a tune up. He's not a car guy but inherited the truck last month from his father in law. It's been a California car up til now. I told him I'd help tune it up so its good until he's ready to sell.

So should I buy this thing? I figure 22re's aren't hard to come by when this one goes tits up

3rg gen helux are the worst IMO. The only reason I can think to buy a pickup would be to turn it into a rock crawler in which case you'd probably want pre 86 for the solid front axel. I upgraded my pickup to a Tacoma because the severe lack of power but I can't attest to its sustainability. Thing started and drove every time.

Hard call for an outsider to make man, really depends on your wants, needs and financial situation but my 2 cents is there are better pickups available if that's what you're looking for.

Dang I thought I found a gem lol. Basically I would keep it sitting stock but replace any worn parts. It would be a "back up truck" if anything happens to the 02 and I have to go check traps or something. I'd also DD it so I would keep miles down on the 02. Also make for a good camping rig as there's a shell included and the 6' bed is better suited for sleeping than my double cab bed
