I'm considering buying a 2004 with 175K on it. The seller says the timing belt and water pump were done at 150K. Should I be concerned that this was done 60K miles after the recommendation?

Nothing to be concerned about. But if you have a weird feeling just take it to a mechanic or dealer for a pre-purchase inspection.

^^^ Agree. Where has the truck spent its life? There may be other things to be concerned about outside of the water pump and timing belt.

I got over 250,000 and have not had it done to mine. The only thing that has gone out is the brake booster about 2 months ago. Discontinued part so I got to get it used, remanufactured, or generic parts store part.

if the belts are still good, there no reason to replace at some predetermined mileage. All you need to know is they have been replaced and that's one less item to check off for pre-sale inspection. Frame rust should be the top consideration, then work from there.
