My buddy was suggesting that I get a new muffler for my Tacoma. My truck ain't fancy, but it is my daily driver and my baby. Any thoughts or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Good brands for tacomas are magnaflow, gibson, wicked, borla, and i know that the 2nd gens run aero turbine 2525 or something like that.

    I have a 18" magnaflow with a 2.25 in/out

My buddy said I should buy a chevy, but did I listen?

Borla will last forever but is the most expensive. If you need a full stainless steel catback, get it. Otherwise, go with just a muffler.

i know I'm a little late but i have a flowmaster super 40 series i think...the tone is amazing. i can't help but get shit gas milage cause i love the tone it gives...but i have a 3.4L so. but i know after you get the right headers and lose one of the cats. it'll put a chevy to shame!! but i look at all these chevys and think wow...i get better gas milage, looks nicer, and to but the cherry on top. pull them out a bunch :D

yea gatortaco is right, i always have to pull chevys out too cuz they are so low to the ground.
but on the topic, i have a flowmaster super 44 series which is one of the highest flowing flowmaster mufflers. it sounds amazing, i always get people commenting on how good it sounds and the only mod was the muffler, stock piping. i found it for like $50 and had a guy install it for another $60 so good bang for your buck

JBA headers & exhaust, new cats, K&N CAI, new shocks, 2.5" lift, Prodigy P2, Timbren, snobord552 light bar (v.2), KC off-roads and Hella fog lights, Teflon A/R ATX 16" Ledge, Nitto Terra Grappler, (265/75R16's), ultragauge, curt roof rack on thule set-up.
Depends on your budget and waht you are trying to accomplish. I can recommend JBA headers and exhaust. Sounds great and pick up about 1-2 mpg.

idk about the gas milage part....mine dropped cause i love the sound so much...ive had mine for 2 years now and still get on it! haha. but who knows i am just a 19 year old kid:)
but i heard JBA headers heat up and melt off some of the protective coating or something like. or maybe its a different brand.

I put a post up on a car forum and asked for a mustang takeoff muffler. I got a dynomax stainless sent to me for free.99! He didn't even let me pay shipping. It sounds great and was easy for my exhaust guy to put on. Find a mustang gt take off stocker or aftermarket (the new gt's are stainless). Mine sounds great. It sounds great at idle and isn't a fart cannon when I get on it. My truck also has a header, intake, and guttless cat.
