Hey guys. Been lurking for a while and finally decided to join. Looks like a great Tacoma forum.

Well I am looking at purchasing a DCSB and found this one. It is below my price range of $19500. 2006 w/ 96k miles. Only thing that concerns me is the engine bay doesnt look too good from the photos posted online.

What do you guys think? First thing I would do is paint the billet grill black, swap out the chrome step bars for nfabs and get rid of the bug guard and vent visors.

If you don't mind me asking, what is motivating you to stay under $19,500?

Are you paying cash? Or is that the overal figure you believe will give you the payment you want?

Be careful when removing the bug shield, you may remove some paint as well. I would leave the vent visors, they will come in handy.

I don't know why you think the engine bay looks concerning. Looks perfectly fine to me. Just a little dust and dirt. Nothing that can't be cleaned up. I would do something about the battery though...

i see what u mean bout the hood, it's prob just dirt and dust, but honestly, if it were me it would make me feel better if they cleaned it up before trying to sell it, and I know prices for these trucks are real high, i personally don't think it's worth it, but this is the kinda prices that these things go for, but you can def find a better deal than this one, if they are firm on the price

also, are you kinda set on the silver, and sport model? because i think with used tacomas, the sport models are much harder to find good deals on, cause you'll be able to find sr5 doublecabs all day long

Yea, unless he is paying I would def stay away. You can get a much better deal especially if you're willing to go to the access cab. Toyota or not 100k miles is still 100k miles that you don't know how it was driven or maintained.
