I can’t recommend the Extang Solid Fold 2.0. The front section can/will deform if you tighten the clamps too much. This is spelled out in the directions.

It seems the internal structure of that section isn’t robust enough. They are clearly aware of it.

Worse case scenario is that you have two dimples on top of that section from over tightening. It’s pretty minor but I thought you should know.

On the other hand, that cover is easy to put on, and take off. That’s a huge benefit when you need the full bed for dirt bikes or something.

My oem one is going on 3 years, still like new. I guess it depends who installed it, and how its taken care of. I've heard some horror stories on them with stevie wonder installs, and not treating them properly for the hot sun beating down on them.

Thanks to all. Good info here. UnderCover Flex looks good, G2 - MX4. Decisions, Decisions. Tacoma is still in Princeton, Indiana as far as I know, dealer may have it soon, depending on the weather, Indiana was right in the middle of it all.

I second the Lomax. It's fantastic quality and looks great! Very low profile. @truckalter can get you a killer deal

Bakflip not available for 2023 Tacos. I'm so bummed, because we absolutely love the one we installed on the 2010 access cab. Still works great, after all these years, even after the middle locking bar fell off.

Disappointed that they don't give you the weight for their products. Their FAQ says that they are generally 55 lbs., but I was hoping the reinforced fiber model weighed much less than the aluminum model.

Would the 2022 work for the 2023 as well?

I just went to Home Depot or Lowe’s (can’t remember which). They had a lot of size combinations and I guessed wrong. When I exchanged them I took the tube with me to make sure I had the right size on that end.

Sorry if this has been covered: anybody have experience with the Lomax trifold and mountain bikes in the back? Can you fold it back to 1/3 covered and still hang the front wheels over the gate?

No idea. I haven't asked yet, but when the wifey and I are ready to pull the trigger (before spring camping season!), I'll reach out to them. It's such a competitive market, though, you'd think they would be Johnny-on-the-spot about adding the '23 to their filter.

I AM curious about other manufacturers' covers, but our experience with the Bakflip has been so positive, we probably won't wander away from the brand. We've abused the one on the '10.

LED interior, license plate, and fog lights. More to come.
My money is on them not having updated to reflect it fitting the 23.

This. Great product, communication and very very very fast shipping. I swear he sent it before I actually sent him payment

Lowmax for the win. I added additional rubber seal to the cab side and near the tailgate. I just drove 6 hours in the rain and very little water got in. I trust my lomax. Also it looks great.

There are two finish options. I went with the urethane because it looked more durable and is shinier (i figured it'd match my MGM taco best) It looks great!

Easy install and very easy to remove. I still have my OEM tie down locations too.

It's the best, go for it!

Lots of bigger companies with more resources are slow to update the years. Seems like a simple fix, but...

Extang isn't bad. I prefer my Backflip for the fact it can sit level to the bed with the adapters that drop 1".

Absolutely should, it's the same truck, yes?
They either haven't updated their websight or haven't installed one literally on a 2023.

I’m unclear on this. My 2022 short bed has no ‘preexisting holes’ anywhere in the bed which is mono construction shell. Am I missing something?

BTW THE BAKFLIP MX4 tubes specs (24 in long):

Mine are 24”, a little longer than needed.
My 2022 is a 6’2” bed so maybe the holes are different.

Ahhh. I see them on mine as well.

So I have a factory mat. My truck is also in the garage. Is drainage REALLY an issue thus poke a hole through the mat (with a nice adapter as mentioned) or should I simply guide the hose under the mat and use the bed channelsto drain wherever? I really hesitate poking holes.
