    thanks will do!

yeah absolutely refuse to pay sticker. Looked at a few vehicles on lot before and when I tossed the sales guy a different number then what was on the window he got all confused and was "no thats the price". Got up and walked out of there after that

Don't bother going to dealerships. Do everything online first. I don't even give them my phone number until they agreed to invoice pricing.

Have used Costco, USAA, and Ford's Z-Plan to get an idea of pricing. I have NOT actually bought any vehicles through their programs because I worked a better deal on my own. You have to have time and extreme patience. Internet purchasing is my new hobby, but dealerships are still filled with idiots. I also used Autotrader or Cars.com to gather quotes etc. Problem is that each internet contact on those two will get you at least 4 responses from 4 different people at the same dealership. This can be a pain the ass.

-Typically most dealerships might say that they have an ecommerce/Internet sales manager, but that’s not true. They have to communicate/coordinate with the sales manager and that involves time. The more you contact them, the MORE emails you’ll get from 4 different people checking up on the other 4 different sales people.

Example timeline of my last internet car purchase & information exchange:

-Initial internet email is sent to car dealers supposed e-commerce rep.
-Immediately I'd get a automated response from the e-commerce/Internet sales manager.
-That message advises that someone will contact me ASAP.
-Day or two later I'd get a message from a sales person that asks you questions that you’ve already asked. So then I'd cut & paste my original message into the new message. I always CC the old sales person to let them know they have failed at this point.
-I would ask what their internet price is for the vehicle.
-They typically quote you the price that’s advertised on their web site.
-I would then send other Autotrader/Cars.com/Other Dealer web site ads where the SAME model is 2 to 3 thousand dollars LESS. That’s when they usually don’t want to email me anymore.
-Then I'd get an automated email that asks if Salesperson XYZ is meeting my expectations.
-I always answer and say no.
-Then I'd get another email from a different salesperson at the same dealer and I'm supposed to start the whole communication again? LOL.

-Some dealerships straight up FAIL at negotiating. Many have not embraced negotiating over the internet, requiring you to call and actually speak to a certified internet sales person. If I contacted YOUR dealership via the internet, why then would I want to talk on the phone?

-A few dealers don’t keep up with their changing ISP and dealer addresses etc. You click on their Autotrader/Cars.Com etc link and that takes you to their old address. In one instance, the dealership name/owners changed a year earlier, yet the old link remained.

Dealers (Stealers) and their little add-on fees make me laugh. You'll see them use creative language with these like:

    -$500 Processing Fee
    $200 Administration Fee
    -$10 Purchasers Online Filing Fee
    -$17.31 Dealers Business License Tax

The last vehicle's price quote I got via the internet contained some of those. I told the sales guy that I’d be charging the dealership the following additional fees if they charged me fees:

    -$250 Customer Premiere Focus Fee
    -$100 Internet Search Optimization Fee
    -$150 DMV Processing Tax Levy
    -$25 Sales Interaction Communication Tax

And then on occasion you get a real good experience. Some sales staff are eager to conduct business through the internet and that's the dealership that gets my business.

If you know how to work a deal, and depending on demand in your area, you should be able to get invoice or just slightly over. Without all of the ridiculous fees as mentioned above ^^

I got mine for about $1000 under MSRP. Before the add-ons it was about $32.4k, and then I added the tow package, winter protection/all season stuff, and the clear bra, came out to about $1000 in extras so it was right around $33.4k before tax/tag/title

I would email or call around, I got the same truck and emailed 6 dealers. some said that I couldn't order, others said MSRP or higher and a couple were under msrp. In the end I found one that was $500 over invoice and ordered, then when it came in they charged me TDA fee and I was pissed so they gave me a bit more for my trade which canceled it out.

in the end I think I paid around $32,500

oh and I don't think you can get just heated seats without the other options

I emailed Florence Toyota in SC. Tom Roman I think. He sent me exact Invoice pricing plus $300 Tax. I took that t my local dealer and offered them $500 over that to track a truck down, or order it, and deliver it. That extra $500 bought me tint, one year fob and ding protection, five oil changes, and a few extras did not want like pin-stripping.

Yeah I could have saved $500 and bought 80 miles away, but my dealer has been top notch when it came to issues. I am not so sure would have received the service I did had bought elsewhere.

I have the dealer do ALL maintenance. That buys a lot of good will as well. It's a $35K truck. I think I can afford to have the dealer do what they do better than I. I know people feel better doing their own work and I respect that.

I used to do as much as I could myself as well. I especially don't want to get under the truck and deal with cartridge filters

I had a heck of a time finding someone to order me a 2016 DCSB 6MT 4x4 Sport. I'm in CA but ended up ordering through a wholesaler in Colorado (family there, much cheaper taxes). After shopping vs. multiple dealers in Colorado and CA - all of whom didn't want to place an order/try to get an allocation for a manual transmission (are you sure you don't want the automatic? drives really nice, better gas mileage! I have one I can sell you here today!) - they offered the best price. That price was $800 over invoice, no dealer fees, and 1.7% fixed financing with no origination fees. Only one dealer got close on price, but financing was significantly worse. I got to select the exact options and colors I wanted - black, premium and tech package, mudflaps and tow package - and no tonneau cover, paint protection film, etc.

This being my first time "ordering" a truck, I didn't know what to expect. I was quoted 10-12 weeks. I'm about 4 weeks in and Toyota just picked up my order (as I understand it, they are not allocating many manuals, so the order sits in the dealer queue until Toyota picks it up / allocates a build slot) and now I'm expecting about another 8 weeks until it shows. I don't have an exact date and I don't know which plant it's coming from. The best part is that the Toyota dealer who offered me $500 off of MSRP as their "best possible deal" is the one that fulfilled the order for my wholesaler. The communication and pricing was so bad from them I thought it was a joke, and after all that, they are the dealer that ended up ordering the truck.

You mentioned living in CA. When you register the truck here, you will need to pay the tax differences between CO and CA, so in reality, there is no tax savings from buying out of state.

I'm in the process of moving to CO, so I'm going to register it there, drive it back here (should only be here 2-3 more months, will keep CO plates and hope I don't get pulled over), and drive back out when I move. But you're right CA will get their 8.75% if you need to register here and paid out of state.

I paid 33,600 out the door with tax title and license. You just have to wait until the end of the month when they have a few on the lot
