Bottom line, if it's not comfortable buy something else.

    A few.
Always a little envy behind comments like that.

    Skipping ahead here...

I'm 6’4” also. The only thing I suffer from is the overhead view of traffic lights. Oh, and the mirror tends to block the view a little. I’m only about 185lb so it’s not too crowded in there. I do know what you’re talking about regarding the center console and right leg. Not much you can do there, but I have seen where some have used ‘rubber glue’ and a nice 3-5mm sheet of neoprene on that surface to soften it up some.

Drive a 2020 Auto. I’d suggest getting a long bed as well. To me, the TRD off road long bed 4x4 has the best ride and solid resale if you ever decided to sell it (less used long beds for sale). You will enjoy the reliability and simple efficiency of the truck. As a plus with all the active safety equipment you can get on TRD models with the tech package (blind spot/rear cross traffic) it’s an even better value.

Ok, now all caught up. 52 here, and I couldn’t be happier with my ‘18 DCSB OR. Granted, I am tuned, but I hear they’ve sorted out a bit of the nonsense in the transmission by 2020.

Overall, it’s a pretty good daily driver. I expect I’ll get an easy 200k miles out of it before something other than an alternator or starter goes. It’s a bit small for heavy loads, but full sizes are a bit large for daily driving.... this coming from someone in Texas.

If you can find it comfortable enough, I’m going to guess it’s going to have enough power and function for you. I plan on boosting mine in a year or two, but that’s only because I plan on making a mini tow-pig out of it.

If you like the manual, the latest OVTune is getting rave reviews from the manual guys. If the tall gears bother you for specific situations, there’s a nice DIY mod to allow 2Lo. Perfect for backing up trailers etc. but if you’re not happy with street gearing, then check out the OVTune manual thread and see what they have to say.

If it’s just you and the Mrs, consider an access cab manual? Gets you the long bed without the extra foot in length.

For the Tacoma, if you can deal with its shortcomings (smaller bed, lower power, limited creature and tech comforts) then its an awesome truck.

    6’2 here. No fitment issues.

the 6MT is a turd, the auto is slightly better imo.

the Tundra is due for a redesign soon, consider that if you go tundra.

I love my Tacoma fwiw, but I’ve only owned one full size in my life (‘03 Tundra, which I think may actually be smaller than the 3rd gen Tacoma).

Tacoma is a great vehicle if you can handle a little bit less headroom, and don’t need to tow a 10,000 pound camper.

I have 17 ACLD 4X4 OR and it works fine. No shifting problems. no frame issues. no brake issues and no power issues. Check out the Tundra if you think the size is an issue

That’s comedy, due to the fact that 95% of f150s can be found idling in a McDonald’s drive through. They sure as shit are worthless on the trails.

I'm 54 yrs old, 6-1 and 250. I have no issues with the comfort of the Tacoma. I have a '19 TRD OffRoad DblCab with NO moonroof. I have plenty of head clearance. I don't even put the seat all the way back. I actually enjoy driving it for extended periods of time. And fyi, I have been a Ford guy most of my life. The last F150 was an '18 SuperCrew 4x4 with the 2.7. Like someone else posted on here, if the Tacoma had a little more rear seat room and that 2.7 motor, we'd all have the perfect truck. Any way, I think you'll be really happy with the Tacoma. The fit and finish in the Tacoma is ahead of the Ford. Everything just works like it's supposed to. No rattles or squeaks. It feels solid and you feel like you can go anywhere in them! The aftermarket support is just shy of a Wrangler when it comes to personalizing it. I would recommend driving the different trim levels....the SR5, the TRD Sport and Off Road. The all have their own feel. Good Luck and keep us informed!

If I were 6’4 and appx 265lbs, I’d get a Tundra. Just being honest!

Hey bud, I think you would feel cramped in a Tacoma. Have you considered a Tundra?

The power seats make all the difference in the world regarding headroom. I’m going to drive a 2020 DC TRD OR 6AT next week. I drove a 2020 Explorer for over two weeks while the F150 was in the shop this last time. I did NOT miss the size of the F150.

Posts like this make me wonder if some people here understand trucks at all.
