About to replace the head gaskets on my 2006, just looking for any last minute tips and tricks for doing this. Watched a few videos, my buddy has been working for a Toyota dealership for 20 years and is gonna send me over all the torque specs. Using all oem components for the rebuild. Replacing water pump and thermostat while I'm in there. Thanks!

Got the heads off, does the wear on these cam bearings look normal for a 1gr-fe? Coming from zero personal knowledge. You can barely feel a difference with your fingernail.

I would say so but I’m not sure if I can tell from a picture with my limited experience.

Pop that thing back in, no worries with that. How many miles on that motor?

Yes, that is what I call stage one levels of wear on the cam bearings. Replace them now while you have it apart.
