    Nice truck

This is the ARE Overland I found through a quick search, not sure if they still make it for the older Tacoma. I recommend contacting your local cap/camper supplier and see what they can get for you.

Replaced stock radio with a Pioneer AVH series head unit. Focal component system w/a 10" sub powered by 2 Alpine amps. Weathertech floor mats. Line-X'd the bed. SCS Ray 10’s, Installed an A.R.E. MX series camper shell. All-Pro Apex front bumper w/ All-Pro skid plates all the way back to the Trans. Low Range fuel skid plate.
Beautiful 1st gen! I looked online for over a year and never came across one so I bit the bullet and paid the $2k but I’m more than pleased with it. It’s not a step side but you might be able to find a camper shell company that still has the mold for it.

Good luck, I’ve been looking for 5 months since I got my truck. I’m convinced I’m the only one in ON, Canada with a stepside Tacoma.

7E4D9F43-255E-408C-BFEC-3323C1BF16EA.jpg I looked for a topper for my 2001 stepside xtracab. I ended up having to order a ARE model. Nice, but pricey. Stepside are rare, so you have to pay to play.

I looked for over a year and a half to find a shell for my step side. The quote i got from leer (or ARE, i dont remember) for a new cap was still more expensive than just buying a used fleet side bed and shell off Craigslist. I do miss the step side, but the fleet side is so much more practical. Nice truck btw, looks clean. Please ignore the squat in the second pic please lol2017-07-19 11.25.27.jpg 20190427_120707.jpg

i saw a newer 1st gen on the freeway here, they had a shell that had an actual minidoor on the back, it looked like the tailgate was cut to modify the door
he was driving too fast to check it out any closer...

you remove the tailgate for those. it has the larger door that latches into the tailgate location and then you can use the mini door to grab stuff.
