I'm in CT, but willing to travel up to 2 hours. Anyone know of a shop or person that would do this? I'm looking to fit 33's soon.

Buy an angle grinder and you’ll have it done in less time than you would’ve spent driving to someone else.

like I said, it would take you less time..

And it doesn’t take much skill. Just hold on tight and start cutting away at the front of the cab mount. 33’s shouldn’t need much trimming anyway.
My cab mounts are cut for 35’s and have been that way for 6 years without welding plates on. This way it’s easier to wash mud/road salt/etc out of there.

Or a sawzall with a metal blade and about 15 minutes. Don’t even need to Jack the truck up or take the wheels off that way.

It sounds like you're already planning on getting it done properly, but it's worth it to weld a plate on. It looks like a hack job if just left open IMO

    Nice, did you do yours?
Honestly, I basically want to fit 33's on a zero offset F5 rim. I wonder if I really need to do this. I don't do nearly the amount of off roading as I'd like. I'll admit a lot of it is for looks.

I do all the CMCs for locals, I've done 30-40 of them. It's too bad you're not closer to me or I could do it for you.

haha you're crazy. There are definitely people closer to you but if you really want to make the drive once the pandemic chills out, I won't say no.

Also it's a good time to spray some undercoating in the hole before you weld. Make sure it's nonflammable

I’ll admit I was(am) thinking of cutting it myself and using JBWeld just to keep the plate in place...

That would be awesome. I think with some patience you could get it all sanded smooth and no one would be the wiser. JB weld is serious shit.

It really is. As long as I’d take my time I could get it to look good. Then a BFH, little spray, good as new!
