    that is a coastal offroad.

What is your definition of affordable?
Do you want plate or tube style?
    Can you weld/fabricate?

Google “1st gen Tacoma off road bumper”

Two companies that come to mind are coastal and arb.

Btw, imo, there is No “affordable” steel bumper unless it’s a diy weld together kit or you legit design and fab it yourself.

Use the search button on the forum to find more specific content like pictures and reviews.

aside from the trail gear bumper,
Most of these are going to be near the $1,000 once painted and shipped to your door. Unfortunately, i don't think the aftermarket for our trucks will ever get near the cheapness of jeep armor.

I mean, google is a pretty good place to start looking. There's also several threads here that list a bunch of bumpers.

More importantly, though, what do you mean affordable?

As others said, you're going to be looking are ~$1000+ for a bolt on plate bumper with a winch mount unless you build your own or buy a DIY kit. DIY kits tend to cost in the $400-$500 range.

Northwest Trail Innovations is another company that does DIY weld-together kits.

I really like my CBI DIY bumper

Over the years building a bumper or two .

All my quotes to build a one off bumper come in more expensive then buying one off the shelf .

In the end unless your labor is free meaning your time has no value funny I can`t find employees that will work for free.

Find one you like and buy it.

My definition of affordable is not cheap but not overpriced and I am only 16 years old so I cant just go spend $1000 dollars on a bumper. And I like the plate style better. And I can weld but I don't have the experience, so it is not so great.

Unfortuately, if you can't spend a grand, it's either time to start saving, or learn how to weld better so you only have to spend about 500 on the weld together kit.
    Hence my previous comment.
Heck, maybe you will get lucky searching offerup and fb marketplace and find one randomly.

I have made and installed 3 bumpers from flatland 4X4. The look is similar and the cost was around $500 each for the materials and cutting of the pieces. It takes lots of time to assemble and install one of these on a truck.

At 16 I would get a flux core welder and a weld together kit. Cost vs time really doesn't matter because its a hobby, on paper the cost vs time doesn't make sense, it's the skills you will learn will be invaluable. Really anyone in this hobby should be able to weld and there is really only one way to do that and it's hood time and a plate bumper is perfect for that. It sounds like you have the fundamentals, time to practice and building a plate bumper is the way to do it! I built a jeep when I was 16 and it was a total shit show but I learned a ton about wrenching. I wish I learned how to weld earlier in this hobby, it would have saved me a ton of time, money, and given me a lot more confidence earlier on.

Another option is keep watching your local For sale bumpers with some thinking and Fabricating any plate bumper can be made to fit might not be perfect saving several hundreds of $$$ on new.

Did you have friends that have the needed space and tools and can lend a helping hand ??

Materials can be gathered slowly once you figure on a design

If you were close to me I would be glad to help you get started .

    Best of Luck !!

Building a bumper is the PERFECT way to gain experience.

I built mine (posted above) from a DIY kit, and I'm hardly a "good" welder (I'm a grinder, not a welder). But building that bumper made me a *better* welder.

    > For ~$200 in 3/16" plate you can build your own from scratch
    > For $450 or so you can get a kit that's already cut and bent (like the CBI kit) and weld it yourself
    > For $1000 you can buy a pre-built/painted bumper

Those are pretty much your choices.

i would also consider the trail gear tube bumper. A lot of people had added their own fill plates to modify it to their style. Adding the top plates cleans up the style a lot IMO. $500 welded up already.

As already mentioned, good bumpers for out trucks are not cheap. I love my Shrockworks bumper. Was a 3 month wait and was around $1200 shipped to my door. Add the Baja Designs lights for $200+ and my Warn M8000 winch for $950. It adds up quick. Of course there’s other lesser expensive options for lights and winch that are still good. I’m really happy with the setup.
