Anyone have or know who might have any Labrador puppies available in the Midwest?

After losing our two pups a year and a half ago we decided it's time for another!

Thanks man! I'm hoping that we don't have to sell one of our kids to get one.

500$, sounds like a bunch of money but everyone we sold the 1st litter too loves them. Parents are both awesome. One of the last puppies is in the last stage at of training to be a diabetic dog.

Rescuing is the way to go. I rescued this guy about 5 months ago and he's been great! Loves hopping up in the taco to go for a ride

I agree!! Best dog (lab) we ever purchased was a 6 yr old lab from a shelter. We have had 5.

I Actually went to the Dane County Humane Society this afternoon and was pleasantly surprised that they had very few dogs. Seriously only like 8 dogs. They only had pit bull mixes and a couple tiny dogs.
I really want to find a Lab. I was lucky enough to find my girl Koya at a shelter about 14 years ago and my wife's lab, Percy, was a drop out from service dog training. Both total sweethearts!

I recently recued a solid black GSD. Rescuing a dog is one of those situations where the dog gives more than you can ever give the dog. It's only been three weeks sense he came to live with us, and he is already very protective of my wife, our other rescue dog, and me. He absolutely insists on staying between what he perceives to be a threat, and us. Bogart, Bogie, is my 4th GSD. I'm very happy with my new addition to our pack. FYI: Please be aware, as great as the are, GSDs are not for everybody.

I love German Shepherds. Wife and I lived with one and that girl was very protective but also very gentle with all of us who lived at that house.

I'm sure, Mattynokes, you would agree that the key words are, "all of us who live at that house". When you know guests are coming to visit, it's almost like having to take reasonable precautions to secure a gun you keep handy for home protection.
Edit: With everyone they come to perceive as members of their pack, they almost act like some kind of goofy comedian. Always clowning around.

You Are The Man Kigmob. I wish people would check out rescuing before they bought from a breeder. This is the 2nd GSD I have rescued out of the 4 I have had. All 4 were great dogs. As I said earlier, GSDs are not for everybody though.

I am going to do my best at rescuing but I hope I can find a pooch to fit my needs. I do miss my Labs and I can't wait to get another.

Labs are such great dogs. They are funny to me because they always want to help you do whatever you're doing. One time I had to keep a friends lab for a few weeks. He was going to ride with me to check on some cattle. He just couldn't believe I didn't want him to drive while I checked the cattle. I finally had to tell him he wasn't driving my truck until he got his license. He did quite trying to drive but we never did agree on the condition of the cattle.

Our boy Percy was like that. He would follow you everywhere and want to help you with everything. We had him trained to do so many things. My favorite trick was when my kids were younger, he would pull the refrigerator door open so that my kids were able to grab me a beer. My female's best one was how she would walk herself with her leash in her mouth.

I don't know if you ever found a lab or not, but I can tell you this labs have been the most popular breed in America for over two decades and there are plenty I mean plenty of them out there. Go to puppyfind.com I promise you will find one within driving distance.
