I'm looking into lifting my 2015 taco and don't want to put just anything in there would like something that might last a little while. I don't do much off roading, mostly a grocery getter with looks lol, but want to put her up so she will look nice. I was looking at Toytec 3" lift kit with Bilstein 5100 Front Coilovers from toytec lifts for around $950.00. I'm pretty handy with tools and think I could handle the job and if not will call in a friend be looking for a taco owner willing to lend a hand on the Wisconsin Illinois border. But first I need to see what lift to install I have read a lot on here and thanks for all the info guys and gals. it is much appreciated. So anyone with more info your help is welcomed. Thanks in advanced.

Didn't know it gave a little better ride + better handling loading capacity.

And DAMN where was I when that GB was going on?

Another vote for the full OME kit! I just replaced the worn out stock suspension on mine about a month ago and is a night and day difference. This is the suspension the Tacomas should have come with from the factory.

How hard is it to install on your own?

Even then there is a really good YouTube video on how to do it without spring compressors using the LCA

Have the coil overs assembled at headstrong and they have numerous youtube videos to walk you through both the fronts and the rear leafs.

I guess yeah I still trust it better than spring compressors though but if it's your first time just get pre-assembled

Hey what about this one? Coil/Bilstein 5100 Kit w/ Dakars (HS05BK-1-Dakar) reason I ask is thee bilsteins are aluminum and the ome are steel they might rust oout faster here in Chicago. Are they pretty much the same?

No frame rust had her under coated. But I see what you mean about the adjustments, just off the phone with headstrong and they recommended them 2 for me. that's why I asked.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
I love my OME kit. I thought I would be ok with an AAL, but after 2 years, the OEM pack is pretty much flat. I don't tow, and only load the bed up when I go camping.

Get the front shocks assembled and it'll make it MUCH easier to install. And it's safer for you too. The rear leaf pack is a fairly simple swap. Just make sure to extend the rear brake lines while you're back there.

Her advice was the one you mentioned and then the one I asked you guys about, so now I have 2 to work with that sound really good to me.

    What is AAL?

AAL= Add a Leaf. It is not a full new leaf pack to replace your oem leafs, it is anot her set of 1 to 3 metal pieces that you add to your own leaf pack. You take yours apart and add to it. Most people find AAL's better and less aggressive then a new leaf pack but like @greeneggsnspam said, your original leafs can wear out and go limp. With a full new leaf pack you start fresh. Make sure if you do go with a full leaf pack you get a good coresponding rear shock to go with it that fits it.
